  1. Lower cost is AZ and the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Those prices are almost south Florida fees during the winter.
  2. I have to agree with the phone. The weather radio is old time as per my grandchildren.
  3. Make sure that the thermostats are set to auto for the fan setting.
  4. I have a small ranch in southeast Texas as a home base. I spend 5 months May thru September in the UP of MI. I try to spend one month in SW Florida each winter. I am a part-timer.
  5. I agree, the 8 ft bed is the way to go. Once you unhitch it is a bit long but I do it. If you think that you will be upgrading to a larger fiver in the future you may consider an F350 as there is a big difference in payload between an F350 and an F250. Good Luck
  6. You can also get the dish that is mounted on the roof and it finds the satellites automatically. Nothing for you to do but turn it on and wait for the picture. You need a clear shot at the sky. Good Luck
  7. Those will be little trailers. Have you considered a fifth wheel? If you plan to spend a lot of time in one place like winter in Florida a fiver makes sense. Good Luck
  8. Medical Insurance, SS Card, debit and credit cards in wallet. Proof of insurance and copy of RV and truck titles in truck. Passports in briefcase also in truck.
  9. It would not be my desire to pay $200 for cancellation fees. I started in August 2018 so it will end in August 2019 and I currently pay less then $70 per month.
  10. When people sign up for a plan they are generally required to live up to that agreement. When I signed up with ATT internet it is to run for 12 months under the terms at that time. The agreement I entered into gave me the option of when and if I go over the 50G limit they can slow it down, if they want or need to, or if I agree they will charge for 10Gs additional.
  11. If I didn't have a place to park my 5th wheel I would think hard about even having one. I have a small ranch in SE Texas where I had a gravel driveway installed and I ran the 50 AMP service for the fiver. Total cost was low but if I had to pay a monthly fee just to park it I would consider it wasted money.
  12. I depends on what type of plan you have. My internet doesn't slow they just charge me more money if I exceed the 50G.
  13. I have used the hotspot with both ATT and Verizon for a number of years. I used whichever one had the better reception. But as we all know the unlimited is not really unlimited! Now I use a device from ATT at $70 per month for 50G and they don't slow you down after the 50G. They just charge you more per additional 10G. Only once did I go over with a granddaughter staying with us and she used lots. We take the ATT device with us when we go RVing. We are pleased with the speed and we also use it at home with excellent results and we were able to get rid of our Hughes Net which was $65 per month and we had it for many years. The ATT device is a lot faster then Hughes NET. Good Luck
  14. I would think that if you provide an address in AZ then you will be expected to pay state income tax there. I have heard that some states will want to tax you for the time that you spend in their state if it is for an extended period of time?
  15. Please keep in mind that Tim Horton's is now owned by the owners of Burger King, a US company.
  16. I have a front living 42 feet fiver with two couches and two so called theater recliners the couches fold out to queen size beds and we like them but the recliners are to short for me. I am only 6 feet tall and about 200 lbs. I have to fold my legs to fit. We would think that a fiver that lists for $116,000 would have done a better job with the recliners? Good Luck
  17. Accumack: Those are the ones that I was ready to buy until a number of the reviews mentioned valve stem issues. I need then for four tires on my fifth wheel trailer. My F350 has a TPMS. I run 110 psi in the trailer tires. Thank You
  18. I am also following this topic, thank you. I was almost ready to buy a TPMS until I looked at reviews on the system I was interested in and read about the sensors weakening the valve stems and even some breaking the valve stems! I still want one and hope to learn from those who post here.

    The Ranch

There are many RV parks that will not honor specific spot reservations. Most of the ones that I use will give you a pull thru if you reserve one but not the one you may have wanted.

    The Ranch

I never used Escapees RV parks prior to reservations because I like to know where I am going to stay well in advance. I always thought that it was a bit primitive to not accept reservations. Taking and tracking reservation is part of the RV park business. I need to know where we will stay before we leave because we don't do boondocking, have a large fiver and don't want to drive much more the 300 miles per day.
  21. That is exactly what I tell my better half. Even if we did go back, it would be to a smaller place or assisted living or even a pine box.
  22. I couldn't agree more Barbaraok! If you plan on going back and live there some day, it can be ok to be a "slum lord".
  23. This past summer I went from Hughes Net, after 17 years with them, to ATT Internet. I got a wifi box for $80 and 50 G for $80 per month. ATT says that it is unlimited but after the 50 G they slow in down unless you pay more. It is fast and we like it much better then Hughes NET.
  24. It would seem that Schwab doesn't want your account and I wouldn't want to leave my money with them. Other firms will be glad to take care of you. In addition to the ones listed above T. Rowe Price would be a good choice. Good Luck
