How do you go about getting it replaced? We first had the cardboard Golden Age cards and later when entering a park the ranger replaced those for us with the newer cards with a magnetic stripe but we still have and use the last version of Golden Age cards and have not updated to an America the Beautiful Senior Card and it has never been questioned nor has a replacement been offered.

Probably at the entry station of a NPS park. That's how I got my Access pass replaced. Just show the ranger your old card and ask him how to replace it.

I had to go out and see what we have. We have the blue passport book and it is very thick. We have the senior pass  one looks like a credit card and the other is a hang in your window card. It says life time pass no expiration date. We got both of them I think in 2006 on our first  road trip  west.

We will find out what is good or not good the next time we try to use it.

Fact of the matter is that they cut or removed the discount on campgrounds and most other things already by privatizing everything. For a couple of years now we haven't got the half price discount because everything is private now. Discount 0 to 10% only and services cut way down. The parks are  a federal program that should be paid for with our taxes. We also paid for the "old folks card". Where it she money going?

Everything? We have done guided tours in several parks in the past few years and all were half price with our cards. Other than campgrounds, food, & accommodations, what else have you seen supplied by vendors in the parks and which parks?

When we volunteered in a national park you could have them replaced (if damaged) by going into the Visitor Center.  No charge at that time. Things may have changed.  However, if you lost it then you'd have to buy a new one.

If you have a card that is still usable and not just worn out from too much billfold/pocket time they will be accepted forever (unless they change the rules).  The only need for replacement is if the old card is falling apart and the number is hard to read.  Any issuing location can issue a new card if needed per the above.

Yes you can get a new card without surrendering your old one for $80.00.

A new card is free if you have the old senior pass.  In August 2019, the gate keeper at the south entrance to Yellowstone NP asked if we wanted a new card and we said sure.  Within 2 minutes we had a brand new card.  No charge.
