StarlifterFE Posted October 22, 2017 Report Share Posted October 22, 2017 2005 Holiday Rambler, Ambassador, Duro-Them Controller, Dometic Air Conditioners The front air conditioner is not working in Auto Mode. When I switch to Fan High or Low everything works fine. The rear air conditioner works fine. The sensor under the TV cabinet is not blocked by anything. Any ideas? Smitty77_7 Posted October 22, 2017 Report Share Posted October 22, 2017 Admit I'm not real familiar with your set up. Our coach, an 04 model built in 03, has two Domestic 15K Penguin AC units. The connection between the Thermostat Control, and the AC units, have RJ45 jacks in the loop. We had a problem from the moisture, then mold, crowing within the connections of the mail to female connections. Took them apart, cleaned them well with electric cleaner, and then air dried via the can air. Added Dielectric Grease, and hooked the connections back up. All good after that. Have added a year maintenance of dropping the AC return grill, unplugging and cleaning all RJ45 connections... If this helps you - GREAT! To give you much in suggestions it would be helpful to better understand what is happening. Does the a/c cool at all? Does the blower run in auto? If the blower runs can you hear the compressor start or attempt to start? Have you looked under the cover of the roof unit yet? It could be something simple like a start capacitor which is pretty easy to replace, or it could also be some major failure. Air conditioners are usually a pretty long-lived appliance, but since it is now 12 years old it could easily have some issues and if used a great deal they may not be minor. Pat & Pete Posted October 22, 2017 Report Share Posted October 22, 2017 We had a similar problem . I tracked it down to a bad relay on the circuit board . We are in the last site at the end of the line. Everything is OK now but will talk to the office about the problem. Not good on stuff in the RV especially high tech devices. Thaks for all the info. LFDR3116 Posted October 25, 2017 Report Share Posted October 25, 2017 We have a Progressive EMS and have been in a situation at the end of the line where voltage was high enough that the EMS would let us run our A/C, but it sure didn't sound right. You could tell it was dragging and fan operation was slow compared to normal. We shut it down to keep it from damage. Power usage was extremely high due to very hot humid weather. If that happens again, check to see what the voltage is as the EMS should open before the voltage falls low enough to be a problem. It may be that yours isn't working properly.
