  1. I just noticed this subject being posted. I built our bed back 2006. It did require some thinking. But it has worked great through the years. With the jeep up on ramps, it provides a lot of storage area underneath. I have been busy with other stuff, so not looking at the forums like I use to. If you want I can search back through my photo s and see what I have. I do not drive my jeep up the ramps. I use a winch on the front of the jeep. Just in case there is a miscue happening.
  2. This is the computerized modern version during WW2. At the beginning of WW2 they did not have this system functioning on battleships. Or just testing it. They had to calculate direction of there ship and speed direction of the target ship and speed distance to target wind speed and direction rotation of the shell it is firing rotation of the earth elevation angle they also counted the number of times the specific barrels liner had been used before they apparently could refine the barrel at sea. That needs some searching for that answer And those computations together. Now to tell when to fire the gun, as in the roll of the ship in the water? I believe there is the drop the ball thing happened. To tell when to pull the trigger. The ball apparently had to hit the floor at a specific spot to pull the trigger? If you look at the photo of the USS Alabama, there is a small airplane on the back of the ship. They launched it off a rail, then on return it landed in the water, and used a crane to pick it out of the water. They had to fire during the day. Then radar was introduced to the war ship. That adde the ability to see and fire at night.
  3. https://youtu.be/1x9PI7XJmg8?si=_BhkQXB9aisARYM7 Ok ok. I am learning something different.
  4. Figuring out how to use my new computer, can be frustrating.
  5. MAIN BATTERY PLOTTING ROOM FOR A FAST BATTLESHIP
  6. Has anyone ever toured a WW2 battleship. Or served on one. I believe the earlier years of that battleship, they may have operated a drop shot computer.
  7. Let’s start with naval battles before 1900. Basically they had to get fairly close to point and shoot a cannon to hit another ship. Then they had had to adjust elevation and left or right to try again? I am still bored, so will keep the hints coming? Be patient, it is interesting.
  8. I guess I am a little bored, so at times so I look up different historical things. Some of the places I have been. Or want to go see.
  9. Today we very sophisticated, computerized weapons. I have stood in this style computer room? This a hint.
  10. This first thing is do you have a volt meter? Next when was the last time the battery terminals were cleaned? A picture of the battery terminals before cleaning would help. Let’s start there. That generator does not make 12vdc. So there is a voltage problem in the power supply line? When hot it quits. After it cools down, it works again?
  11. Since I am interested in history, and I seen one of these computers in person once. I am curious if anyone else ever seen one before. Or maybe operated it.
  12. Thanks for the response. Things were confusing for about two weeks as most things worked. But I could not post on this forum.
  13. So this is a rest post. My old iPad mini had a few problems lately. So this is just a test
  14. Glade everyone is doing good. Things will get better, although it may seem like a long time away. When our truck was totaled, it seemed like things were very slow in the process. We needed to heal from being hit twice from the same tractor trailer. Ended up on our side. We were out for dinner, so we did not have the fifth wheel with use. we did have a place to live. But finding a truck was one thing. Get a bed and hitch on it was another subject. Make sure you are good health wise. And the puppies, I see one in the truck looking out. One thing I did learn from our ordeal, was to contact where everything was towed to. They should leave you in the vehicles to get things out. You also need to talk with the insurance company to see what is covered, for extra things you installed in the RV as extra Stuff. If it is not covered, Can you remove it. That is if you want to or not. I would suggest getting what you can asap. In our situation where other vehicles were involved, we were not allowed to take pictures of the other vehicles that were in the tow yard. We’re you planning on staying in the Billings area for a while. Or was it just a quick stop. We are in western Montana so if you want me to look at any Rv stuff out our way, I will. Will everyone in our prayers
  15. As for finding those fittings, check with auto parts stores for fittings for air shock systems. That could help. Does the collet move at all. Look at the end of the air line. It could just have compressed the line over time. And just happened to come out. The line may wore off where the collet grips the line. Possibly just cut 1/4” off the end, at a very slight angle, apply silicone lube. Then try pushing it back into place, rotating as pushing? Just a quick thought.
