Yea - back to the land of the internet once again. We were in a National Forest campground at Flaming Gorge with no internet the last couple of night. Tonight we are in Rawlins, WY for the long week-end. The wind is howling - 46 mph gusts, steady at 35 to 40. Cold - 51 today, 34 tonight. The weather is supposed to be lousy all week-end. Rain/sleet, wind, etc. Wish you were with us. But I have the internet and electricity. I'm good to go.

Well, we've got the winds but not those temperatures! It has been in the 90s here. Fortunately Terry and Jeri loaned me a Honda generator last winter when my Yamaha took a powder. I fell in love with it and went to Parker and bought one. Well, today I went to Albuquerque and bought the "Companion" that makes it possible for me to run the air conditioner. 80* in the trailer is much better than 96* I had when I hooked them up this afternoon. It will take a day or two to cool down everything in the rig but I'll be sleeping better tonight. Millie is already practicing, she's spread out on the floor sound asleep.

Got up first thing this morning and took the bus into OKC to get our slide topper installed. They did it right away and kicked me out the door. Easy to do when you have all the right ladders and personnel! I ordered the M&G braking system for the new truck while I was there and they will install that on June 6th. I saved $200 by having an old one to turn in, so that worked out ok. They can reuse the breakaway device, so that saved $180 too. After that I went back to the casino and topped off my diesel tank for $3.66 per gal and re-parked the bus. Then I got busy on ebay. I did OK on ebay today. I had to bid on a front bracket assembly for the Dakota and got it for $50 plus $25 shipping. The new ones are $275, so that was A-OK. Then I bid on a tailgate lock and got it for $6, plus $8 shipping. The new ones were about $45, so that was a good deal too. Every once in a while, you get a bargain. Then I went to the tag office and got a tag for the new truck, ouch! Good thing I just got a rebate for the house insurance, (that almost covered it)! :( This place is starting to fill up for the weekend, so it should be interesting to see who or what shows up. Now all I have to do is strip everything off the Trailblazer, and get it ready to sell. This retirement is getting tiring!! ;) Steve

Hey Steve, when did you guys relocate to the RGV?

Hey, Joe, how's the orange paint slinging? I thought of you the other day when they were stripeing the road next to us. We still plan on being up there somewhere around Aug 15 or so. We will be drycamping in our nephew's parents driveway in Seattle for a few days, but If either before or after we want to come see you if you're going to be there. Surely you can use a couple of moochers! I'll leave all the tornado "breezes" down here ;) . Steve

Carol - the flooding is all around Billings. But even if the Yellowstone was to flood at Billings, the kids live up in the heights and aren't anywhere near anything that would flood. However, we're still not sure when the roads are going to be open so we can get to Billings. Hopefully, it's going to dry up a little bit this week and we'll just hang around in the rain here in Wyoming and hope we don't get trapped here with the floods. I sure am looking forward to some warmer weather some day soon. Probably a good idea to just stay put for the week-end. The campground we're in here in Rawlins, only has two other rigs. The peace and quiet is sure nice.

Did the prison tour today and found just a delightful bakery. Love these small town gems.

Congrats to all the grandparents out there. Glad everybody is doing great.

Happy Memorial Day and Weekend to all! We're here in Titusville FL. for the weekend at The Great Outdoors Resort. We had some thundershowers yesterday and a little wind but that's about it, some clouds today but no moisture. Congrats go out to all with new Grandbabies! We are waiting for the arrival of #10 a little later this summer. Palamine, congrats so far to the Canucks, saw that on tv this morning. Steve.... get in there and hit that ice cream machine as long as you can stay out of the basement! Glad to hear all is working out with new truck and work on the coach. We are just hanging out. Went to the pool today. It got up to 88 and was beautiful here. Haven't decided which way we'll go when we come up out of here....it kinda depends on the storms and floods. Hope ya'll have a fun weekend.

As Always,

Toni, dang but that looks a whole lot like Logan. ;) Funny how all kids that age look so much alike.

OK, I'm sittin here having a bit of what Steve calls that "Bad Whiskey" and trying to combat a really bad case of "Hitch Itch", weather here got really good this afternoon and the Motor Home really looked sad just sittin there in the driveway.

Don't combat it; give in and go somewhere!

We've already picked a place to go for an oil change when hitch itch sets in here. Not far away but enough that we could choose to spend a night or two away from our summer spot if we feel the need for a getaway. Besides we've been told we need to move the rig every now and then to keep from getting square tires. Dave's already talking about moving it out so he can mow under it to give the ants fewer access ramps but given the challenge we had getting it into this spot i'm not anxious to move it already.

I will, but it won't be for a while yet. Still have some work to do.

Joe

It's always nice to look forward to a little change of scenery. However, just going for an oil change doesn't offer much of a view. We all have to do what we have to do!

Congratulations on the darling new addition to Toni and Doug. We only have four and will only have four. How do you handle Christmas and birthdays with so many grandkids???

We still haven't heard from IYQ. Normally he gives us a heads up. Where is he??

I have been lurking but haven't had the time to really respond to everything. We have just had the weekend from H..l!!

Our campground here has been hit with some flooding this spring and about 1/3 of it is still unusable because of the water. We had spent all of the week before the holiday contacting everyone with options and had everyone placed by Thursday morning. Thursday night we had a major storm and another 1 1/2 inches of rain!! :( By Friday when everyone started arriving it became one hugh disaster. We got that taken care of (my manager is great with) and everything was good on Saturday until the evening when we had a major storm north of us. The river started to rise again slowly, we were keeping an eye on it and then....a dam broke north of us and the river came cushing down. We were evacuating about 100 rigs around 11pm!! Some left completely and some stayed in our parking lot overnight. Now we have lost about 2/3 of the park. Check out this website if you want to see some pics.

Like I said, I do lurk and quickly try to keep up with everyone. Glad everyone is safe. Congrats to all those with new grandchildren. Send us some wind to dry up all this water :)

Mother nature has not been king to anyone in the country since winter. The ski season up here was great this year with a record level snow but everyone has been paying dearly with the snow melt.
