Federal Jury Duty Summons in Beaumont

Have any of you had a Federal Jury Duty Simmons in Bueanmont District Court? How did you handle it? Did the Court Clerk understand your situation as a member of the Escapees?

What does being a member of Escapees have to do with it? There are only certain things that excuse you from jury duty, however, if you are not going to be in the area the best thing you can do is to contact the Juror Office and request to be excused.

Are you referring to the US District Court, Eastern District of Texas, located in Beaumont, TX? Since there is no special arrangement between the court and the Escapees, I strongly recommend that you contact the court as quickly as possible to discuss your situation. The only arrangement for jury service is with the Polk County Courts.

Federal is a different animal. For instance, I have it coming up in CA. Can only postpone once, which I did because of a planned trip. Of course, if called in, I will likely get dismissed if the attorneys are not zombies, because I read, including the fillings listed on the court site. The court I am obligated to has a great contact system and replies timely.
