Ss under report is self harming, and harms spouse and potentially offspring. Under reporting for Medicare hurts all.

Not a trend. Businesses accepting cards always factor in their merchant fees. Those that pay cash or check, some feel it is a bonus. But, managing cash and checks has a cost too.

The interesting to me moral issue is tip via card. The merchant has to pay fees on the tips, and in some cases, deducts the fee. But if you give cash, you can be helping enable tax fraud.

Where we like to kayak close to home, there is a couple dollar fee box. We use a check for security reasons. If it gets cashed, we have proof and can fight a ticket. As a merchant, the fees are extreme as the high reward cards cost more to accept, but we just build the cost in, like all do. If someone were to send me a check, it is a 3% bonus for us.

One of our greyhounds had to have all 42 teeth removed. Still chomped kibble. Many of the ex racers need extensive dental if they get freed. One broken leg, depending on the injury, locality, skill, and equipment of the vet, can easily be near 10k. Same for an amputation due to cancer.

I would not have a dog without pet insurance. Prevents the big bills, and if managed well, is not too expensive. We look at 10k being the high end for an illness or injury and arrange savings and insurance to be able to cover that amount at all times. Even our rescued Macau ex racer was able to be insured, although we never were able to use it in the short time before her passing. We downsized dogs this time, both are at or under 40lb. We are in a better financial position so we have injury only insurance on these two rescues (from the meat market in China). The one has front ligament issues as he was strung up for sale by his front legs. KEEP in mind, what you can physically handle in 10 years. A larger dog may be too much to safely handle, even on leash. (Something all reputable adoption locations will, no matter how uncomfortable, discuss.)

Something you can lift in and out of vehicles now, and in 10 years. Not all will want to jump, and as they age (really most of the time) the thumping or jumping down is tough on their front end.

Nope. Compare to the Tesla model 3 manual worth lipo. Charge and use as desired. The small loss from keeping charge and calendar loss is relatively insignificant over the life of the batt. i have lipo in the rv which keep at 100%. Maybe 5% loss after 24 months. Tesla has 2% loss over a year. Tesla warrants for 8 years or 120k. One can buy a third party warranty to double it. lipo means we don’t have to be a slave to batt monitoring. added. My drone batts self discharge to 40/60% after about a week. Designed into the bms. I think they had issues with early batts swelling and have left this “feature” in even though the current batt formula likely does not need it. Of course, many buy and use off brand chargers, so the batt self protecting is not a bad thing.

Nothing here for me either. I took mine apart, the material had not decayed. I do not use the cleaning process said to cause the issue. I got a new scrip and a different brand machine. My personal risk was likely nil. Especially compared to all the brake shoe dust I inhaled in the 60’s.
