ChaseTheRide
Be lurking around for sometime now and just bought a 2000 VNL 770. Was setup as a toter when I bought it but have a few concerns. The Hensley TSLB has obviously had had a king pin dropped on it. Should I be concern? I am more than likely going to have to rebuild or lengthen the bed to get our Smart on it so not concern about the cosmetic of the bend. Also know from Hensley I can get the 2 covers for the air fittings that got crushed, Quote 2000 Volvo 770 2022 Momentum 397TH-R 2016 Smart Fourtwo 2018 HD Road Glide Ultra
NeverEasy
IMO, the damage is on no concern. I added a "drop hitch preventer" to mine. Picture attached, I hope. Darryl&Rita
My time worrying would be spent on the lack of maintenance. That one looks almost ready for rebuild. Check all pivot points for slop and wear before using it. If it passes, then get some lube on it. The bent metal isn't really structural. dblr
Funny yours looks almost like the one a friend has on his Volvo when he bought it and with the same crushed areas 🙄 Quote 2017 River Stone Legacy 38MB 2001 T2000 Kenworth 2009 Smart Passion ET Junior hitch

ChaseTheRide
Thanks for the feedback. The hitch does look like it has been abused and not well maintained. Hensley agreed it should not effect performance of hitch. In asked that parts they have available for rebuilding it.
