Thanksgiving with no gathering

For those of you planning a Thanksgiving meal without extended family, here's what we do for the two of us: We buy a precooked turkey breast, a can of sweet potatoes, a can of cranberry sauce, and a loaf of bread so we can have leftover turkey sandwiches. Then Dave bakes a pumpkin pie like his mother always made. That gives us the flavors most important to us. You might want to start thinking now about what's most important to you besides the gathering itself.

A pound of sliced , precooked and flavored turkey breast will last a good week

We've gone the deli turkey route as well but the challenge there is getting thick cut rather than very thin slices. Somehow those thin slices don't make as good a leftover turkey sandwich. :)

The challenge with a Skype call is remembering to do it before you eat all the food. :)
