Dehumidifier for winter storage of travel trailer.

Hello all.

I am new to RVing and this is my first time winterizing my trailer and storing it in my driveway. I live in New York and it will be below freezing for a few months.

My question is:

Does anybody run a dehumidifier well their trailer is being stored?

I want to run a discharge hose out of the camper so I don't have to check it every day, is this possible?

How do I prevent the water from freezing?

Thanks, Joe

I used to place DampRid  in the RV when storing it in the winter.  It worked very well.  DampRid is available at most stores such as WalMart, Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, Target, etc.

Thanks everyone.

How much damp rid for a 30 ft trailer?

What are the best spots to place the Damp rid buckets?

I use the DampRid Hi-Capacity Moisture Absorber, Fragrance Free - 4 Lb in the living area of my Koala TT (27 ft.) and Damp Rid Disposable Moisture Absorber- 10.5 Oz in my bathroom. In the past  6 years, I haven't experienced any moisture build-up. Just make sure to empty them when it gets full of fluid. They are refillable but I just replace them. They have lasted me throughout my TN Smoky Mountain winter season before being replaced.
