jnslprd
Hello all. I am new to RVing and this is my first time winterizing my trailer and storing it in my driveway. I live in New York and it will be below freezing for a few months. My question is: Does anybody run a dehumidifier well their trailer is being stored? I want to run a discharge hose out of the camper so I don't have to check it every day, is this possible? How do I prevent the water from freezing? Thanks, Joe
2gypsies
I would think the dehumidifier, itself, would freeze. Are you leaving heat on in the RV?
sandsys
When I stored my RV in our parking lot in Minnesota I didn't need a dehumidifier. Is it that much more humid in New York? Linda Sand
StraitRVing
I used to place DampRid in the RV when storing it in the winter. It worked very well. DampRid is available at most stores such as WalMart, Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, Target, etc.

I use the DampRid Hi-Capacity Moisture Absorber, Fragrance Free - 4 Lb in the living area of my Koala TT (27 ft.) and Damp Rid Disposable Moisture Absorber- 10.5 Oz in my bathroom. In the past 6 years, I haven't experienced any moisture build-up. Just make sure to empty them when it gets full of fluid. They are refillable but I just replace them. They have lasted me throughout my TN Smoky Mountain winter season before being replaced.
