Steve from SoCal
Honestly, If you want a reliable low maintenance truck, look at 06 and down trucks. You won't get the wiz bang auto but, you get a truck that has nearly all the features without the ongoing emission system worries. Personally I would even suggest a standard transmission if your so inclined. These choices remove about 70% of the areas of issue for any truck. Yea they are going to be older and have more miles and wear. The newer trucks from all makes seem to have a shorter lifespan and the used market confirms that. As far as USAA, I still have my car with them, even when they did write RV policies they just brokered Progressive. That is not a line of their business, no harm no foul. I highly recommend their banking services also. GlennWest
Mine is an 06 and it rather reliable. I have had to do little to it. Turn signal, wiper switch, alternator (mine fault). Just ordered an ac compressor. Mine leaking. Mine is also a Detroit so parts not an arm and leg.Once I got it registered no problem with insurance.
