Now you have to send a photocopy of your DL if you do it by mail and you pay by check. I did it in Oct for TT and Nov. for P/U. They gave me a note about the copy about the copy of the DL instead of returning it but said all future renewalls would require copy. Not sure about the out of state but suspect it would work. For definitive answer call the Polk county tax office at Livingston assuming that is where you are going to register the truck in TX. License and registration are two unrelated issues. If you plan to domicile with Escapees in TX, I suggest that you call the folks at Polk Co. and they will be happy to help.
