I ran across this today and could not pass it up. It is a complete new military 5 ton truck bed that is 153" long 96" wide and the removable sides are 28" tail.

Richard,

And here I thought you had figured out a way to make a Western Star useful as a cow chip hauler ?

Heck all you need for that is a sheet hung under your truck. That way the wife and kids can just pick them up and chunk them in like they did on the move West.

That's awesome!  I never thought of that.

That's what I thought when I saw it. Remove the sides keep the front and bolt it on then add your boxes. What a money and time saver. Maybe I will use it on my next truck!  maybe I'll sell it not sure as of this moment.

We found out the sheets ripped with about 1/2 load. Heavy tarps worked a lot better. ?

Heavymetal;

That is a great idea! Quick and easy bed that can be used for more than a place for a "Smart Car". Haul dirt or peat for the yard, no problem! Put a tarp in it, fill it with water....now a portable pool! Drop the sides now you have a flat bed! And I bet it was no where near $10k! Easy to modify for those 5th wheel needs too!

Great idea!
