AwesomeSauceDuo
Hello all! We aren't sure if there was an official update or not, so we thought we should post here and "officially" update about the stolen RV. https://awesomesauceadventure.com/2016/06/30/update-found-and-lost-and-what-now/ The RV was recovered, but it was TRASHED. Everything of any value at all was taken (the ends of electrical wires, a seat cushion, literally anything worth more than a dollar), and whatever wasn't taken was destroyed. We are working with National General insurance now. A big bummer is that the theft insurance only covered $3000.00 worth of items stolen. That didn't even cover the DVD collection we had with us. SO, a word of caution! CHECK YOUR THEFT COVERAGE! Make sure when you talk to someone, and they assure you that you have "full coverage" you find out what that means. Exactly. They rig is now sitting at Camping World Las Vegas, waiting to be looked at. It has been there for a couple of weeks now. They are very busy, and haven't even evaluated the rig yet, which is frustrating. Again, check with your coverage, and MAKE SURE that your rig is covered for something like theft and damage, and FIND OUT where they will tow it in the event of any damage. CW doesn't do a lot (or any?) real engine work. Our ignition was stripped and needs to be fully replaced, which is something CW doesn't do. The rig was driven with the EBrake still in place, again, not something CW looks at. So, be informed before you hit the road. Other than that, we are in the "hurry up and wait," part of the process. Thank you SO MUCH for all of the support from the community! It means so much to us to know we weren't, and aren't, alone on the road! Be careful out there. TXiceman
First thing I would do is get it to some place other than Camping World. So sorry to hear that it was trashed. Wouldn't you love to get the little XXXXX in a room and you have a baseball bat? Jim Seward
Highly recommend Johnny Walker RV on Boulder highway. So sorry for what you're having to go through with the theft and vandalism of your coach. Wishing you all the best in getting repairs made and then back on the road. P.S. I'm not a Camping World Fan either. I patronize Vegas Trailer Supplies when I need any items for our Coach. dartmouth01
Vegas Trailer Supplies fixed an emergency axle issue overnight for me when we passed thru a few years ago. They get a thumbs up in my book. But not sure they can do any rv interior work or engine work.

oldride
Sorry to hear of the loss and damage. Seem to recall you had some family urns hope they were recovered. If it drags out much more you might want to call the state insurance commission. They might build a small fire. But if Camping World does't do repair get it moved to a repair facilty asap. Hope it gets better. 2011 CAN-AM Spyder Rt SE5, 2010 Alpine 5th wheel, 1998 Vovlo VNL610 Hopefully 2 years 6 month till full time retirement. AwesomeSauceDuo
Your animal weren't in there when it was stolen, were they? Absolutely not. We took them into our room with us after the AC wasn't up to snuff. The animals are always our top priority. AwesomeSauceDuo
Our Insurance will only cover repairs completed at Camping World, which is why we (reluctantly) had it taken there. We might be able to get the Insurance to take it somewhere else. Adventure Pro Tip: ALWAYS make sure you know where you Insurance will take your rig in the event of a problem. Smitty77_7
Wow, I assume you have read the small print? But usually it is not legal for an insurance company to dictate where a repair will be covered? So sorry you are going thru this. We have sort of double coverage, as we still maintain a home (Now our vacation home.) with home insurance. This policy, includes coverage to some extent, on personal items that may be stollen from our RV. So those of you that maintain a sticks & bricks, may find you too have some additional coverage above and beyond your RV Insurance. And while I have not yet used the Escapees Sponsoring RV Insurance, I've heard time and again, that they will provide you with an opinion of how good your coverage is. They may even be able to help you obtain a policy.... Best of ongoing luck to you, and pleases do keep us in the loop as this evolves. This is an interesting comment which I actually just researched with our insurance. At present, since we are not full timers, but are "longer" timers, I had a question concerning liability. For example, if we had a party and someone took a nosedive down our steps, who paid? The answer was, our sticks & bricks policy. They went on to explain that if the RV was hooked to the TV then most everything fell under the auspices of the TV policy. Unhooked, then the S&B policy took over. The moral to this comment, given the sad circumstances that occurred with the OP is this ---- read the fine print, make sure, ask your company/agent all the "what ifs" you can think of, and if, only if, you think you do not have sufficient coverage then find out what it will take to make you feel comfortable with your circumstances.
