justRich
If you mean dry camping, there is Aguirre Springs which is a BLM campground. With the geezer pass it cost $7.50 / day There is only two, maybe three sites big enough and flat enough for a small Class A. 5er's and HDT's would be a bad idea. Use google satellite view to confirm. ~Rich

trailertraveler
It is not what I would call boondocking, but Oliver Lee State Park has a dry camping loop with several very long backin sites. There are a few water and electric sites that would be large enough for a big rig. It takes some looking and planning and maybe even coming in from the wrong direction, but even the largest 5er would fit easily if disconnected. Dry Camping is $10/day, free with State Parks camping pass which is $225 for nonresidents.
Greg112
Can't recall exact mileage but between White Sands and Holloman AFB there is a wildlife watching area marked as such on the highway. If you've got a big rig coming from the west be ready to swing wide, the access road angles back (to the northwest).
