GlennWest
I've read lots on Smart forums but no one there drive or winches on a set of ramps either. The ride is very stiff and hear different tries improve ride and handling. What do you all recommend.
NoDirectionHome
I'm on 4 Michelin 185/60-15's on 4 Rr wheels. The "turn-in is very aggressive which I love but some people will not.
GlennWest
My deal is the roads I mostly drive are rough. Lots of traffic on these job sites. The little short tires give little cushion. Not a lot of wheel well either looks like.
Star Dreamer
You could try some tires like these on a smart we saw on the Hot Rod Power tour: Sorry I do not know what size they are or the brand. Might be a little aggressive of the tread pattern and be noisy but you would have more side wall for cushion! Dave
Star Dreamer
I did a search on the Smart car in the picture of the above post and it a SEMA 2009 show vehicle by Daystar showing off their 2" lift kits for smarts. Here is a picture from their website with the car at SEMA http://daystarweb.com/offroad.php?id=20#topImage Supposedly it allows up to a 175/70/15 tire on the front and a 185/75/15 tire on the rear. Dennis M
Our '05 was a bit hard riding, but the '11 was awful. I put on 185/55 R 15 Hankooks all around. Amazing improvement in both ride and handling. Still choppy, but much better.
Big5er
I put 6" wide wheels all the way around my smart with 195/50/15's. It handles a lot better but face it, the smart has as much suspension as a skateboard. There isn't much that you can do to fix it that is cheap.
