  1. The service manuals usually say that between 18° & 24° is the normal range so you should be good, particularly if you have the blower on high cool.
  2. OK, I see what he is saying now. It is interesting that the phone numbers are from San Diego, Riverside, and for the water filter store, Phoenix. Of course if they are all cell phones the area codes probably track to where they originated. By using Google Earth I did some closer looking and find that Schwalm RV Parts also has a listing in the corner of that building and there is a picture of the staff, which does have Dave for sure and probably Tracy too, when compared to the water store picture. Makes me think that all three get mail and probably ship from STE 8, and must be all online. I would guess that they have bought two more online business. Makes me wonder if they actually travel much, since that business location is only about 60 miles from their base at Jojoba Hills SKP park. We used to visit Rick and Lynn Dahl at the outdoor market in Yuma, 15 or so years ago.
  3. I looked through all 18 pages of parts and products on the RV Water Filter Store website and while the available items have been expanded from what Rick and Lynn Dahl stocked, everything there can be related to water as in plumbing parts, water treatment, faucet sets and such. I didn't find any other products or links to other sites. Having been a customer of the RV Water Filter Store for many years, I'd appreciate it if you could provide links or some other means of locating the other businesses that they have?
  4. Where on the water filter store website do you find those? I am looking at the website only find water quality related products.
  5. Or the world's biggest candle! 🙃
  6. That has been my experience as well. And your approach to the office is also often a factor. It sounds like the staff did their best in this case as well. Sometimes there just is no simple answer and we have to live with that. To respond to the original question, it has not been common in our many years of RV travels. I would say that is a very rare thing. In all of the years, including 12 years of fulltime travels, I can only recall that sort of thing happening to us one time. There was also one occasion when we arrived at a park that we had reservations for and their sewer system had experienced a major problem that backed up and flooded many of the RV sites so we had to go elsewhere or dry camp in the parking lot, which is what we did. The staff called around and located us another spot the next morning but they were too busy moving people already in the park to do that the afternoon when we arrived.
  7. That would make me think so, if the manual is the one for your RV. Do you have a wet bay that it might be located in? I would expect it to be located near where the city water connection is and inside of one of the access doors. Is this a new to you RV that you purchased used?
  8. Are you sure that there is one? I looked online at the specs for it but didn't find any indication whether or not is comes with a built in water filter. Most RVs do not.
  9. Please do. In fact I'll add a couple more. Sweetwater Events Complex, Rock Springs, WY $45/night, back in only and full hookups with 50A. Pima County Fairgrounds, Tucson, AZ $35/night full hookups.

It is not unique to SD as the issue is a federal law that applies to all financial institutions. That has been the case since the Patriot act was first passed.
  11. If your RV doesn't have the standard access panel that is full width of the refrigerator you may have to pull it out of the mounting inside of the RV to gain access. .. Before you do that, have you had the propane supply pressure checked to be sure that it is at the required 11" of water column? It might be that you need to have the propane pressure regulator replaced as a low supply would make it more likely to blow out.

The problem is that all financial institutions now must deal with the federal regulations that have come out of the events of 9/11 and other terroristic activities that have since been prevented. If you read the linked regulation you will see that it doesn't require any specific type of address but it does require that the financial institution has sufficient proof of identity of the person or persons opening an account and a reasonably certain way to know where the owners are. The easiest way to do that is the requirement of a valid, physical, residential address that can be verified. There are other acceptable means but those require extra effort and rules by the financial institution and they may not be willing to make the extra effort. 13. A lot depends on your skills to do the repairs and your knowledge of RV construction. It will be a major job to get the wood under the walls and you need to know the condition of the walls before you start that effort. If you have the skills needed to do the work it could still get expensive, depending on how much it actually needs. You haven't told us much about which Springdale trailer it is or the size but most 10 year old Springdale trailers seem to be priced between $6,000 and $15,000 when in good condition. In the condition of that one I would expect less and it might even be difficult to find a buyer. In used RVs the condition is everything and those with water damage are rarely bought by an experienced RVer.

I don't think that you have to use a relative that is in the same state as your mail service, but I am not absolutely certain of that. You might want to ask the people at your mail service to help you. As a footnote, Escapees RV Club is much more than just a mail service.
  15. Does that include a 401k and IRA? My 401k is by far out biggest investment amount. Prior to retirement I did manage it within the structure of my employer's plan, which had range of different types of funds but no individual stocks. I also had some money in bond funds, but no longer. When I retired I rolled the 401k into an IRA that I did manage for a time but several years ago I put it into a managed fund where it has performed very well. The fund manager recently changed firms and like most of his customers, we went with him.
  16. Welcome to the Escapee forums. I'm not entirely sure of what your picture is showing. Is the black the original floor material? Or is the floor removed and we are looking down to the material of the underbelly of the trailer? If the roof was leaking, then the walls are probably hiding rotted wood as well. Is there rotten wood under the wall and between the wall and the trailer frame that supports it? How large is the rotted area? More pictures and some showing a larger area might be helpful.
  17. I have my entire 401k in a managed fund and that is about 70% of our invested assets. So far we have only withdrawn the "required minimum distribution" or RMD on an annual basis, although we did take extra when we bought a house again after leaving fulltime. The other 30% is kept mostly in CD's, T-bills, and other shorter term investments which I manage. At our age(80+) the appeal of individual stocks has faded and I'm almost completely out of those. But I do still enjoy following things most of the time. Since Pam has never been into such things and we are at an age that one of us could pass on quite suddenly, I keep our son the financial analyst informed and minimize my direct activities. Our fund manager has a history of doing very well for us for over 20 years now.
  18. Medicare Open Enrollment starts October 15! Even if you're happy with your current plan, it's important to check for any changes next year and compare your coverage with other available options. You may even save money, find better coverage, or both! You can visit Medicare.gov to preview coverage options before Open Enrollment.
  19. Factor investing can offer enhanced returns What is factor investing? To begin with, factor investing is also known as smart beta investing. Factor investing is an investment approach that involves designing a portfolio of stocks, based on a certain factor or set of factors. The factors here can be value, momentum, quality, price, alpha, low-volatility etc. For example, if an investor wishes to have an element of growth in his portfolio ..

There were laws passed since 9/11 that set requirements for addresses with financial institutions las part of the Patriot Law package. The laws require a physical address for holding bank accounts and transferring money. If the bankers dig far enough into those laws, there is a provision for an alternate address arrangement with a second address of a permanent resident, near relative who will always know where you are. The problem is that many financial institution employees only see the main part of those rules and act, without any effort to dig into the fine print. Escapees RV Club has helped many of their members with that issue and most financial institutions they deal with rarely have that issue and they readily deal with the problem for their members when it does arise. If your friend is a member of Escapees, have him contact the business office for assistance. If not, he may need to get the help of an attorney.
  21. Do you have a volt/ohm meter to take some readings with? That would be the best way to know what is happening. if you do not, then you can tell if the converter is working by lifting the cable from the negative post of the battery and if your lights and appliances work when connected to 120V electricity, that would indicate that you do have a working converter. Have you checked to be sure that you have a good battery? The problem could be the battery. You could take it out and take it to a battery seller and they can do a load test on it for you, free. It would also help if we knew what RV you have? Is it a motorhome, a travel trailer, a fifth wheel?
  22. Here is information on the Livingston station. If you don't get anyone by phone you might try the fax number. Phone 936-327-8713 Fax 936-327-2118 Hours Mon-Fri 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM Sat 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM Sun Closed
  23. Unless things have recently changed, all of the "crown colonies" have that right. I know that UK does and the same for Canada and Mexico. I knew a couple from New Zealand who did that as well, but it's been several years on that one. I did an online search and came up with the following information.
  24. Welcome to the Escapee forums! Here is a copy of the Owner's Manual which you can download, if you do not have them. The operating instructions begin on page 8. There are several things that could be related to the problems and a lack of service is one of them. You should be able to gain access to the burner area from the outside access panel. It is also possible that you do not have proper propane supply pressure so you may want to have that checked. With an RV that is now 23 years old, it seems unlikely that the problem was always there but I have no experience with one like it so am only guessing.
  25. If you have one it is probably what D&J suggested. If you are basing that on the schematic you may be looking at the 3 way model that has both 12V and 120V heaters but that is an option that you do not have.
