  1. Does the display have anything lighted up? Have you done any troubleshooting? If you let us know the model we can probably get a service manual.
  2. Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Tenneessee
  3. So how about sharing a bit more with us about your plans? When health drove us from the road we downsized but we didn't stop traveling by RV. We did a pretty good variety of things for the next 10 years but have only just this summer left RV life behind. Don't give up your dreams until you must, even if you need to modify them.
  4. Which states have the highest and lowest adult literacy rates? Published on Mon, August 21, 2023 ~ USA Facts
  5. To us, that was one of the major advantages of the mobile life and it kind of spoiled us. When on the road if we had a neighbor we disliked we always knew that even when in a volunteer position, the most we needed to get along with them was a month or two. When we left the road we kind of had to adjust our attitudes a bit as the neighbors didn't leave and neither did we! Mobility issues combined with proximity of our doctors was the key reason we stopped. Very few RVs are comfortable for use of a walker or needing assistance in the bathroom. Absolutely! Our time is much too valuable to waste. Pam had several serious medical issues before we went fulltime but her primary care doctor also understood and worked with us to manage things. We visited doctors once or twice each year for most of our time on the road, with two longer stays for recovery from surgeries. The main advice that I'd give would be to make the very best use possible of the time that you have as the memories are priceless.
  6. The most difficult part for us would be the limited space you have when 1 is not feeling well or just "out of sorts." It is important to remember that all of the daily living issues and most of the baggage of life in your house will travel with you. Another thing is that if or when things break down or family problems arise, you won't have the nearby support system of friends and neighbors, unless you are very fortunate. We lived fulltime for 12 years and because my wife's health issues were the reason we left the road, I think that for us the #1 problem was not being close to your regular doctors when health issues developed.
  7. Is your doctor recommending the shot even though you have had RSV? Just wondering as our doctor recommends that for Covid.
  8. John Hopkins Medicine, Coronavirus Face Masks FAQs N95s and KN95s masks are available to the public and, if worn consistently and properly, are effective to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. This past Wednesday morning, Pam had an appointment with our primary care physician. She was told that here in Mesquite TX it is time for seniors and those with impaired immunity to seriously consider the use of masks again. Her recommendation was for places like elevators or crowded places and when in close contact with strangers it would be wise to use a mask, preferably of the N95 or KN95 variety.

  10. HEALTH AND SCIENCE PUBLISHED FRI, SEP 1 2023 When to wear masks as Covid cases rise, new variants emerge in the U.S. KEY POINTS An uptick in Covid cases and hospitalizations in the U.S., and the emergence of new variants of the virus, are prompting questions about whether it’s time for Americans to start masking up again. People infected with Covid should wear masks around others to prevent the spread of the virus. For those not infected, the decision to mask depends on a few things. That includes your personal risk level, Covid rates in your region and who you might make contact with, experts said.
  11. Markandkim, just wondering how things have gone with the new domicile and your travels?
  12. Just in case you have not seen it, there is a post in the healthcare forum by an Escapee who is in need. Emergency return of truck and travel trailer
  13. I'm not sure how you can meet up with Escapee members without traveling, but it might be possible that some would stop in the RV park where you are if you share that information. Escapees does not have a functioning chapter in NY. There isn't any member group that is exclusively for women but there are many women who are active in The Escapees Singles BOF, so you might start by visiting their website. As far as being a snowbird, there are many RV parks that cater to snowbirds in the south and most of them would have at least some Escapees in them. There are several Escapee RV parks that are in the south, but to my knowledge none of them have rental cabins or RV so you would need to either bring yours or rent one when you get there.
  14. The temperature of the two water supplies will impact the resulting mixture. The mixing valves can become contaminated with minerals from the water and need cleaning and most of them are adjustable. How do I clean a thermostatic mixing valve?
  15. My 1987 Allegro had an ATS while the 1998 Cruise Master had the plug in the cord storage. With the CM that was also the location of the 50A/120V distribution box that was the same as a stick house and the converter was immediately behind it. It was a pass through by with some water lines and it was a pass-through with the water heater space on the other side. I found that I liked the outlet for storing the cord end as it was very convenient. A friend who did have an ATS in his motorhome had me help him install a box with the outlet in his cord storage just to keep the plug handy even though there was no power supplied to that plug. Having made a career of repairing electrical equipment, I tend to think like John that needless features are just more potential failures.
  16. It would be nice if you would acknowledge the folks who are trying to help you when you look in.
  17. It is a bit more complicated than plugging in, but there should be no wiring modifications needed other than possibly a few minor changes to the connections. It should be pretty simple.
  18. Let us know how things work out. Most of us have never done the sort of thing that you are dealing with. My wife was a bank loan office who did the lendor's part of such and exchange but it was not for an RV and it was more than 30 years ago.
  19. That is not what financial businesses use but the one in the link I listed. If you want an answer to your question, perhaps the USPS could supply one. If you doubt that the Escapee mail service is considered to be a PMB by the USPS, just ask them.
  20. Where did you check it? Got a link? How do you determine if an address is a business? Licensing Info. The RDI™ Product allows customers to determine whether an address is classified as residential or business in the USPS® Address Management System (AMS) database. Addresses processed using the RDI data return an indicator denoting 'Yes' for Business or 'No' for Residential.
  21. If you are looking up 77351, that is the zip for the business office and for the community of Livingston and it is not a mail service. If you check 77399 that is the mail service.
  22. Also, all organizations that receive mail for the public are required to register with the USPS and as such they are a "private mail box" by legal definition. The way that a business knows that your address is a PMB is that the USPS maintains a database of them which is available to businesses. Escapees mail service is a private mail box service and they are registered with the USPS as such. There have been problems with their acceptance by financial institutions that fall under the "Patriot Act" many times and they have been well known for getting involved in correcting the problem. That my make them less susceptible to such actions but they have not been immune to it.
