  1. We used Findlay RV in Las Vegas back in 2016 when the pump went out on our air mattress. They are (or were at the time) a Winnebago dealer. We would use them again if we needed service when we're in the area.
  2. You can also use the Route Planning Map on the Directory's website. Enter a starting and ending point and you'll get information about the Day's End entries along that route. On the Directory's website, there's an "Updates Log" where new information is listed before a new Directory is available. You can always go through the updates to see if there are any changes/additions/deletions along your route.
  3. What will you do for an address? You have to have an address for your driver's license, insurance on your vehicles, health insurance, etc. You can't *not* have an address of some sort. If you don't want to use a mail forwarding service, do you have friends or family in Florida that would be willing to let you use their address as your domicile address and handle what mail you do receive for you?
  4. As others have stated, including yourself, a site doesn't get updated unless someone visits it and sends in an update to Guy. The Days End Directory website gives directions on how to send in an update. Normally, about once a quarter, but I believe it was updated less frequently during the pandemic when people weren't traveling as much. I assume you downloaded the Directory rather than getting a hard copy...it's the best way to stay updated. Guy sends out an email when a new Directory is available and you can go to the website to download the new Directory. If you send in "x" number of reports during the year, the next year's subscription is free. Send in enough reports and you can become a life member and never have to pay a subscription fee again. The details are on the Directory's website.
  5. Thanks Bob! I hadn't even thought about using transfer stations.
  6. I tried the app shortly after I learned about the program, but was never able to find any stations regardless of whether I searched for gas or diesel and regardless of the state I searched for (just the Western states we travel in). I gave up and deleted the app.
  7. The Shell station where? I'm only finding one Shell station in Yuma at 8th & 4th. No BLM land near there. There is a Chevron station at I-8 and Sidewinder Rd. That's where the Pilot Knob LTVA is with dumpsters. However, those dumpsters are only for those with a permit. There is a free BLM area just a bit west of the LTVA, but there isn't a dumpster there, at least the last time we drove by it.
  8. Yes, that was my feeling, too.
  9. We've always stayed at the Pilot Knob LTVA which has dumpsters. But for the 2022/2023 winter season, we are considering staying on free BLM land either along Ogilby Road or Sidewinder Road. We know where we can dump and get water for free, but I have no idea where we can dump garbage. Anyone else boondock around the Yuma area at other than an LTVA? Where do you dump your garbage?
  10. The OP has not returned since she posted her question. It would be nice if posters who ask a question would at least return to let us know if anything others took the time to post helped.
  11. You will need fulltimers insurance once you begin fulltiming. I'm not sure Am Fam (American Family?) offers fulltimers insurance. Here is a current thread discussing this very subject with places to check for fulltimers insurance.
  12. https://daysenddirectory.com/#/ You do have to be an Escapee to get this Directory.
  13. Try using equal amounts of baking soda and white vinegar. Put the baking soda down the drain first followed by the vinegar. Depending on how clogged the drain is, you might need to do this more than once.
  14. Both roads are good, just keep an eye on the weather if you're concerned about snow. You'll have to go through Austin to get to NV-305, and it has a steep, winding road to get down into town. Other than that, I can't recall any problem areas. There's free camping at Sportsman's Park on NV-376 ~8 miles north of its junction with US-6, east side of highway. There's a rest area near Carvers that allows an 18-hour stay as does the Valley of the Moon rest area north of Austin on NV-305. There are lots of other areas to camp along these two roads (if you are an Escapee, I recommend getting the Days End Directory to see all the other areas to camp). If you're looking for RV parks, can't help you there as we spend most of our time boondocking.
  15. Anytime we find spam, we flag the author as a spammer so s/he can no longer post. That doesn't stop them from signing up under a new name and posting spam again. We're in discussions now about various ways we can stop the proliferation of spam. However, as Kirk said, these forums are hosted by a 3rd party company, not by the Escapees, so our options may be limited, but we're working on it.
  16. Yes, I know they are subscription services, ranging in price from ~$35 to ~$70.
  17. I've checked Fubo TV, Sling, Hulu + Live TV, Vidgo, and Youtube TV. All of them offer FS1, which is the channel I'm interested in, so I wouldn't have to worry about Fox NOW.
  18. I know it's not limited to just Dish as a TV provider, but once we cancel Dish, we'll have no TV provider -- just streaming. I have Youtube and Hulu, but just the basic subscriptions, not the ones that include live TV such as Youtube TV or Hulu Plus Live TV. I would have to upgrade my subscription to one of them. I don't know the cost of YouTube TV, but Hulu Plus Live TV is ~$70 a month. Of course, like you say, I could sign up for the month of June and then go back to the basic subscription.
  19. In preparation for the Westminster Dog Show in June, I've been trying to figure out how we can watch it by streaming. I know I can watch it if I subscribe to something like Fubo TV or Hulu + Live TV, but those are expensive. I can also download the Fox NOW app, but there's a hitch -- they require you to have a subscription to a TV provider. We're currently Dish customers, so I could sign up now for Fox NOW using my login information for Dish. But we're planning on cancelling Dish in the very near future. So what happens in June when we no longer have Dish? Would we still be able to view Fox NOW?
  20. That's probably okay *if* you have water at the dump station. However, we occasionally stay at the LTVA north of Blythe, CA and, while there is a dump there, there isn't any water. So, no, in cases like that, I would not want a Blue Boy inside any part of my RV.
  21. Honey pot? Are you talking about something like this Blue Boy? If so, I like Star Dreamer's or Second Chance's suggestions. I would not want it hung inside.
  22. I don't think we'll even need Dish Outdoors. We went down to the rig a few days ago to check out the TV. Although we couldn't see the HDMI ports because of the plate attached to the back for hanging on the wall, the Users Manual shows two HDMI ports -- which makes sense now that I think about it because when I switch from OTA to satellite, I have to select HDMI 1 for the satellite. The only drawback to going 100% streaming is if we're in a place with no cell service (which we are occasionally) we won't be able to watch TV. But that would only be for a day or two, so I think we can survive! 😜
  23. Thanks, Bill. RV Mobile Internet has a review and a couple of You Tube videos about Calyx Institute and the M2000. They were favorable, so I think I'm going to go ahead and order it.
  24. Wow! I just checked out EZMobileData and they're a bit on the expensive side! Even the Pink Plan which is with T-Mobile and is their cheapest plan, is about twice as much as Calyx Institute's plan which also uses T-Mobile...and that's just for the first year. The second year with Calyx Institute is about $250 a year cheaper. I'd still be interested in hearing from anyone who's used the Internet plan from Calyx Institute.
