  1. We had a heat warning on Monday but Friday's predicted high is 69. Finally going to be cool enough to take the comforters to the laundromat. How's that for exciting? Linda Sand
  2. Made me LOL. Read it to Dave and got a big smile from him, too. Linda
  3. Amazing Grace on bagpipes is music to cry to. Hits me inside somewhere. I'd love to see a caber (?) toss someday. Linda Sand
  4. I'm not baring anything! I'll grin at the concept, though. Linda
  5. So, did it kill you? We want to know. Linda
  6. Family gathering at Dave's sister's house on Labor Day. Our daughter, the trucker, got a load that would let her be here. When she went to pick it up they asked for her hazmat certification. She doesn't have one. Now she has two loads that will bring her this way on Labor Day but maybe not in time for the family picnic. We have her new refrigerator so I sure hope she gets here. Life is just bumpy sometimes. Linda Sand
  7. Emerald Cove is a membership park but Jeri comes in on her Thousand Trails membership and anyone can come free for a few days IF they are willing to listen to the sales talk. The other Linda
  8. Well, I still haven't been to the slabs so that might be interesting. But the couple who can't bring their rig into California wouldn't like that to be the main gathering place, either. We usually have a series of sites anyway with everyone gathering at Q then a bunch moving on to Pilot Knob or Plamosa Road or ? We don't all arrive at the same time or depart at the same time anyway. I think as long as some of us get to Q during the show then we move to where the rest of us can gather most of us will be happy. I have a couple other groups meeting in Q the week of the show so I may not be joining our group much during that time but I could come to wherever after if that's what I need to do to catch up with all of you. I do want to eat some more of Toni's cooking. Linda Sand
  9. The reunion: So far, a bunch of us are going to be somewhere in Arizona sometime in January. That's close enough for now, isn't it? Linda
  10. I don't know about all of you but I'm feeling better just reading your stories. We went out to dinner with friends last night. I had a chicken breast topped with artichoke dip then covered with provolone cheese. Wonderful! We're going back there. Linda
  11. Too true. I tend to stay put my two weeks at a time at Emerald Cove then stop at Walmart in Parker on my way to and from Q. When in Q I go into town to eat several times that week. But into town there is not so far. Linda
  12. I have the half size DEF tank in my Sprinter which covers about 5000 miles of driving. It worries me a bit that you are needing DEF already in your new truck. I drove from Texas to Arizona and back to Texas before my light came on. Oh, I guess you've driven about that far, too. Never mind. Linda
  13. The best way to make your turn come for service is to decide to take a nap. Linda Sand
  14. Wow! Good for you! About half that 40 pounds I lost a year ago has managed to find me so I need to focus again. Problem is we go back to eating the way we did when we put it all on then wonder why the weight comes back. I just ordered a bunch of pre-made meals to help me get back on track. Expensive but so is being overweight. My blood pressure and A1C were good at my physical and I want to keep them that way. Linda
  15. We got busy living life. I finally got out into my RV today and started putting stuff back into it. Going someplace again some day. May make a day trip down to the Spam Museum if I ever again learn to get up while it's still morning. Linda
  16. Yeah, you can do that even in the rain. Linda
  17. Party at Soos'! Everyone invited. Linda
  18. We did the fall color trip down the east coast a few years ago. Traveled slow enough that we kept time with the colors changing so had peak color for weeks. Loved it! Linda Sand
  19. I think bears swim. Pretty quickly if my impressions are right. Linda
  20. I will be going to Q during the show to meet up with other groups that will be there. If you all come there I will camp with you, too. If you go somewhere else at that time, I will miss you. If you meet up somewhere else at a different time I will likely come join you. I plan to spend most of the winter migrating between Emerald Cove near Parker, AZ, and Q but you know how those plans go. Mostly I want to escape from Minnesota winter but not move long distances once I get to Arizona since Dave pays rent on this apartment year around so I like to keep my winter lodging budget low. Linda Sand
  21. Will you be meeting up with Paul and Sue (Soos)? They are in that area, too. http://soos-ontheroad.blogspot.com Linda Sand
  22. Not much to our update. We're basically holed up in the apartment for the summer only going out into the heat for groceries and medical appointments with a few gatherings with friends. Come cold weather, though, I will be headed south and west. I plan to be mostly in the Q and Parker areas all winter. Linda
  23. Class map still shows you in Houston. Who are you hiding from? Linda Sand
  24. Funny, the class map says you are IN Texas. Linda
  25. We're home in Minnesota for the summer. I'm getting hitch itch, though, so may go off for a few days once I get the rig repacked. Linda Sand
