  1. I think Steve must have visited here. Our A/C is broken. They came up to do routine maintenance on it Friday afternoon and it hasn't worked since. There appears to be a freon leak somewhere not visible. They filled it and it worked for a short while. Now they are saying they can't do anything until Monday but they think they will be replacing our unit then. In the meantime they brought us a box fan. Ummm, people it is HOT here. Mid afternoon I took a cool shower then we drove way down to Lakeville to Cracker Barrel just to use the A/C in the car and restaurant for awhile. Maybe tomorrow we'll drive out to Rogers in the van to eat at Denny's and give the van a workout--diesels need to be run, you know. And we sure don't feel like doing much else in this heat. Linda
  2. Today I am feeling hopeful. My health is finally improving so I may be able to get back out there this year after all. Linda
  3. My experience is if the new owners don't also change the staff you pretty much get what you always got. It is hard to know that, though, without going there once again. Sorry your experience proved my rule. Linda
  4. Lee, I sure do like my TravelScoot. It get me around Emerald Cove park just fine. I do have to be careful not to outpace anyone walking along with me, though. And it can fold up into a carry-on size bag if you want to take it with you to other parks. Linda
  5. The trick to going as a group to a rally is to meet up someplace in advance and go in as a caravan. That gets you parked together. The trick with Escapade is they have several entry days and, some years, several types of sites, so you have to agree before anyone registers as to what day you are going and what type of site you want. If I go to this next one, I will probably ask for a handicapped site so as to be closer to main events. But, my ability to go at all is not looking good right now--the new medicine they having me trying makes me too stupid to drive. Linda
  6. We went to Escapade our first year on the road. We felt lost a lot. But we felt lost pretty much everywhere those first few months. The evening programs were better than most seminars so I recommend taking afternoon naps so you can be awake for the evening. My favorite seminar was a lady from the Chamber of Commerce who told us where to get the best eats. Linda Sand
  7. I'd go to Hawaii again in a minute but I'm not so sure about sharing rooms. The last time we shared a room the other guy snored loudly all night so we got very little sleep. Linda
  8. My favorite of all Jeri and Terry's purchases is the extending handle small fly swatter they brought me. It has been well used and appreciated. It fits just fine in my small motorhome but does its job as well as the bigger fly swatters do. In fact it now rests right here at my desk in the apartment just daring any flies to come near. Thanks again, Jeri and Terry. Linda Sand
  9. Ha! Steve asked how much stuff Jeri sold and she answered with how much she bought. Tells you where her mind is. Ought to be a good free table next January. :0 Linda
  10. You tell the best stories! I love this one. Linda
  11. Toni, i don't know how you guys do it. I couldn't. But, I sure am glad someone does. Linda
  12. Hmmm. Sounds like one of my iPad hidden object games where you have to find and/or assemble the parts. Bet, I could do that if you sent me pictures of the areas you hid them. Linda Sand
  13. I hate that! It's kind of like removing something from your eye. You know it is not still there but your body insists on acting as if it was. I am so glad I finally figured out what method I need to use to get all my pills to go down correctly. In the meantime I find lemon drops to be the best way to soothe that type of throat irritation. Lifesavers work, too, but I prefer lemon drops when I can get them. Linda Sand
  14. Wish I could send Lee some of our rain. A local RV park we stayed in 3-4? years ago flooded out again this year as the Minnesota River overflowed its banks. We don't need anymore rain. Yesterday it came down so hard with 45° winds we couldn't see our swamp next door. Sure was fun to watch that rain from safe inside. Linda
  15. Sounds like you'll be passing through our neighborhood. Usually I'd offer to meet for a meal but right now I'm having such bad foot pain when walking that Dave is bringing my food to my desk so I don't have to hobble to the kitchen to eat. I go nowhere except the desk, recliner, bathroom, and bed. It seems my current shoes relieve one pain but cause another. Can't decide what to wear on my feet. May have to go back to the podiatrist next week. Ugh! Other than that, life is good. Linda
  16. Sorry to hear about this. As someone going deaf with deteriorating eyesight I understand the desire to bite sometimes. So far, I just growl, though. Linda
  17. None? At all? If so, I have some for you now that you have all the answers. Linda
  18. It's the walk back home after the therapy that is a killer. Linda Sand
  19. Excellent news! Thanks for the update. Linda
  20. Wow, Lee! I'd sure need a GPS to find my way around Land Harbor but I can see why that would be a good place to start a square dance group--lots of people in a small area from which to draw dancers. I miss square dancing. It was one of the few forms of exercise I enjoyed. We lucked out in getting the best caller around here to teach us. There was one caller who would put together a series of moves that wouldn't work and he was always surprised to see us all confused. Fortunately, there were several other good callers besides our teacher so we could find a decent dance pretty much anytime we wanted to go. I'd love to get back into dancing if my body would let us do that again. Linda Sand Linda Sand
  21. Chest pain from gastritis and from heart attack can look a lot alike. When I have chest pain I take an anti-gas tab or two and wait to see if it works. Sometimes it takes awhile but I have not yet awakened to find myself dead. I'm surprised they didn't keep him long enough to see if the gastritis remedy worked, though. Linda Sand
  22. Wish we could have sent you some of what we had last night. We certainly had enough to share. It came down so hard and heavy we could barely see the railing on our tiny deck. Linda
  23. Lee, You don't have to send Steve a can of beans; he does most of their cooking anyway. Just like Dave now does most of ours. Good to have guys around who admit they can do these things. Linda
  24. You can get an extension so you don't have to go in June. Linda
  25. We used to go to iHop. Dave likes their Belgian waffle with butter and syrup and I liked their Tuscan Griller sandwich--chicken, Provolone, fire grilled tomatoes and sun-dried tomato spread. Of course, they no longer have that on their menu and I have not yet found anything I like nearly as well so we don't go much now. Linda
