  1. AND HOW WAS YOUR WEEK? The OS update on my phone broke it which left me without internet either since my phone is my hot spot so I had to drive 316 miles round trip to Phoenix to get it fixed. And it hailed on my RV in Quartzsite this morning. Sure hope we all had all year's bad luck this week so the rest of the year will be fine! Linda
  2. You think some of us have been there so many times we have a favorite time? Linda
  3. Be careful not to go too low on the salt. That can leave you with an iodine shortage which will then mess up your thyroid. I may have said this before but Dave's Dad got bit big time by not eating enough salt so when people start sounding obsessive about low salt I get a bit worried. Linda
  4. I'm at Craggy Wash north of Lake Havasu City parked next to Doug & Toni. We've been making deals. I buy ingredients and Toni cooks. Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, carrots, and ice cream the first night. Ribs with hand cut French fries and pumpkin pie the second night. Lasagna with Caesar salad and carrot cake tonight. And I get to take home some of the leftovers! I keep walking around singing, "Heaven, I'm in Heaven." Linda
  5. We're due for some more of that rocking and rolling tomorrow. I didn't think I'd be looking forward to winter ending way down here in Arizona. Linda
  6. They are predicting high wind gusts again Monday. My time here is up Tuesday. So I might come Sunday if I actually do all my chores today. My GPS didn't like your coordinates at La Posa. Can you give me directions instead this time? Julie taught me how to text so I can do that now. Linda
  7. You just got there, right? Are you staying the full two weeks? If so I think I'll hang here with the free electricity a bit longer to see if the weather warms up again. If you are not staying that long there, let me know and I will come sooner. I really would like to have these curtains finished but not badly enough to buy my own sewing machine and try to find a big enough table to use to do them. BTW, this is the only means I have of contacting you right now. The email address I have doesn't work and the phone number gets me a "voicemail not set up" response. Linda
  8. Sorry about that. When I asked about timing you said not today nor tomorrow. Then I had to drive to charge my batteries. Since you never said when I decided I had enough of the battery game and came here. I would have come back down for the day anytime you said when. Do you still want to do them? I hate to do the not tomorrow bit after having said all that but gusty winds tomorrow. But after the winds die down I'll drive up to Havasu if you'll do them. I need to go out for groceries anyway. Linda
  9. But, do you have Verizon? I have 5 more days here then plan to go boondocking for a week. Want to meet somewhere and do my curtains? Thinking about Plamosa Road so I can do all my computer updates on that fast connection. We could meet at Parker Walmart and stock up before heading out. Linda
  10. VERY little steps, I hope. It's barely February. Linda
  11. I've been thinking about this class-less stuff. Things like you can only be a probationary member until you come to Q some January for initiation. People who attend a Q gathering more often that they miss a Q gathering are upper class. Those who miss more than they attend once they become fulltimers are low class. What do you think so far? And what else might you propose be added to this list. Or subtracted if you feel a need to do that? Do original members get grandfathered in since these rules didn't exist before --in fact may not even exist now? If so, do they need to start counting attends and misses now? Is there some number of meetups with class members elsewhere they can use to offset missing Q? Or do they have to come to Q every now and then to meet the other members? If so, how often? Wow this is already getting way more complicated than I anticipated. LInda Sand original class of "08 who has missed two Q gatherings--I think.
  12. Charley, Of course we'll have you. They let me in, didn't they? Linda Sand
  13. Jeri, You might be surprised at how many RV parks have corrals. Just depends on where you travel. I took my alternate day of driving to Parker to charge my batteries yesterday but couldn't make the rig go back. I'm across the river with full hookups and my rig is soaking up all the water and electricity it wants. Me, too. All my electronics are fully charged and so are my house batteries and it's been dark for several hours! Tomorrow I'm going to check out that bathhouse across the driveway to see how long a shower I can make myself take. Been doing Navy showers so long not sure I can remember how to take a long shower. Linda
  14. Many of the classless class members are now camped up at Plamosa Road. Just in case any of you are looking for us. Linda Sand
  15. I just feel lucky to have been an original member of the class of '08. Otherwise they might kick me out now that i'm snowbirding instead of fulltiming. Maybe if I keep showing up at Q every year they won't notice that? Shhhh. Linda Sand
  16. I'm moving today. All the way over to La Posa North to join the Sprinter Tech group to ask about my alternator and tire pressures. May stay a night or two there but plan to be back by Monday night's party here in La Posa South. Linda
  17. I got a good laugh from that one. Thanks. Linda
  18. MMMM. Carrot cake. I bought a tiny pumpkin loaf the other day and ate the whole thing in one sitting. I don't think carrot cake would last long enough here for Julie to get some unless she happened along just as I arrived home. I am being a hermit today. Hopefully I will get out and meet the others here tomorrow. Too cold to even take my reflectix out of my windows. I am so ready for this wind storm to be over. Linda
  19. I'm at the Walmart in Parker tonight. If all goes well I'll join you all in Q sometime tomorrow. Should probably do laundry on my way there so don't look for me early. Linda
  20. Well, we won't have any hookups to freeze. The Van Dwellers group is having a seminar on solar Friday morning. Free. Off Kuehn Rd after the turn south. If I get my furnace fixed I'm thinking about going to it. Linda
  21. Dave had groceries delivered so he wouldn't have to go out in a storm but he is going to lots of model railroad operating sessions so he is happy about that. He occasionally sends me pictures taken from our balcony so I can see what I am missing. Linda
  22. Evidence of the need to stay away from places named "Suicide Hill". Solar, huh? How much you getting? How much you need? Hope your numbers come closer together than mine do. Linda
  23. You know, some of us leave DH at home when he refuses to go. Linda
  24. Looking at various calendars it looks like my groups are going to be spread out over three weeks. So much for a 2-week pass. Maybe I should just buy an annual so I can stop there whenever I'm passing through any of the BLM areas without having to calculate dates. Linda
