  1. A lot of groups tell Denny & Susie Orr where they will be then they pass on that information at the SKP happy hours on Jan 16 & 17 this year. So if you can come a couple days earlier than you planned it might help you find people. The SKP happy hour is always along Kuehn Rd east of Hwy 95 and they put up BIG signs so it is easy to find them. Bring food to share and your own chair, beverage, and tableware. Linda Sand
  2. I feel like I'm back in those early days again trying to learn how to run this rig. Just found out I have a "high idle" switch that I'm supposed to be able to use to do the initial charge of my batteries instead of buying a generator then I can let the solar panels finish them. Sure hope that works. If so, I'll be able to stay in Q more than a day. Now I just have to figure out which group is going to be where when. It looks like one of my groups is going to be there before the big show so that will be less conflict for me. Now if I could just get down the timing for the other three groups. Are you guys going to be staying after the show? Coming before the show? Only be there during the show? Maybe I should just wait and come to Pilot Knob? Help! Linda Sand
  3. And it rained. And Dave had a bad head cold so we mostly hunkered down inside. Not one of our better visits but it was good to see Lee & MaryJane. Linda
  4. Sorry for your loss. Glad to hear you are feeling better. Hope you get a good report from the PA. Linda
  5. A sore throat might be a GOOD sign? Hmmm. I don't think I'll stop worrying yet. Linda
  6. I like PAs. They tend to treat you like people and to be up on the most current stuff. I hope yours does well by you. Linda
  7. Lee, Do you have a humidifier? Some moisture in the desert air might help. If not, put your tea kettle on the stove frequently and see if that helps. If not, GO TO THE DOCTOR IN BRAWLEY! We want you alive and well for the Q gathering. Where we should all pay attention to how much salt and sugar we are tempting you with. You need to stop being such a nice guy and take care of your health more than our feelings. Linda
  8. I got to talk to one brother on the phone; he was too sick to come meet me. The other brother is in Texas for knee surgery. I spent last night parked along Khuen Rd. Today I moved over to I-10 Exit 1 area to join the van dwellers group there. Wonderful people! Linda
  9. Terry & Jeri took some of us out for pizza tonight. Thanks, guys. It was very generous of you. Linda
  10. That might be true if they were reading the forums but I don't think they are. I don't think just listing as friends tells them that. And they don't have to sign up as anything to read the forums. Linda Sand
  11. Does it do me harm if they list themselves? I've been just ignoring them. Linda
  12. Lee didn't tell you he spent part of the day helping me better understand my solar system. I am now feeling grateful for what I have. Don't get me wrong, I'm still greedy enough to wish I had more but I'm getting a lot of energy for the space I have. He was surprised to learn I can go two nights and the day in between once he realized I have an all electric refrigerator. My next challenge is to learn how long I'll have to run my engine if I want to charge my batteries without actually driving. Can't learn that while plugged in, though, so it will wait until I move on to the desert. Probably going to Q the first part of next week. Linda
  13. Uh Oh. Maybe we shouldn't have given you so much up front. You might leave now. Linda Had to edit--can't type my own name!
  14. IYQ pulled into Rovers Roost this afternoon. We are so glad to see him. Spaghetti feed tomorrow. Linda Sand
  15. Uh oh. I think I better go shopping tomorrow morning as I have no cranberry juice. Nor spaghetti. I think Toni has spaghetti, though. And Jeri probably has some juice, although she's into frozen daiquiris right now. I have some really good grapes, though, which the others will tell you is true as I've been sharing them. Linda
  16. Excellent. See you tomorrow. If you talk to them very nicely they might let you have site 59 which would put you behind me and beside Toni. Jeri is beside me and behind Toni. We can have our own little enclave. Just don't arrive after 5 pm. I did and got quite a tongue lashing for it. Linda Sand
  17. I plan to do my laundry here at Rover's Roost today. I like the prices here and I'm about to run out of clean things. It looks like Lee might be coming so I'll wait until tomorrow to see if I'm extending my time here or not. I hear him about the cost of coming here. It would be cheaper for me to go on to Parker but I sure do like the company here. Dave says I need someone who can lie down on the floor to finish analyzing my solar system and he knows I can't get back up. Although, I could maybe scootch out the back door and use its lip to help me sit up and get up. Still playing everything by ear. Linda
  18. Wow! I thought they monitor you after giving blood before they let you leave. But, I've never donated so I don't really know. Glad she eventually turned out OK. Linda
  19. Lee, If you are coming to Casa Grande I am staying. I want to see you get better. And, if you feel up to it, I'd like you to look at my energy audit stuff and tell me if there's anything more I can do. The site I am in is available until Frebruary but I can't afford to stay here that long. Then I plan to go to Phoenix just long enough to see my brothers and stock up on some stuff. Then I'll head up to Parker where I can have full hookups for an average of $32 a week. I'll come to Q when everyone else will be there if I can figure out how to have enough power to do that. Right now I have to use my alternator every other day to recharge my batteries. Jeri & Terry have offered to share their generator with me if I need it. Linda Sand
  20. I hate to ask for help but am glad Jeri did it for me. I have four 95 watt solar panels and the equivalent of four 12 volt AGM batteries and I can only run one day and two nights on them. Something is wrong. Lee, if you'd be willing to come help figure out what I sure would appreciate it. I'll even promise to stay put until you get here. Linda Sand
  21. I would have if I had read this before I settled into the Benson Walmart for the night. OK. Folks. I'm in Arizona and headed through Tucson, Casa Grande, Phoenix, and Q. Who else is in my path and what are we doing about it? Linda
  22. Finally made it out of Texas. Boy, I travel slow! Am at Dreamcatcher for a couple nights. Need to spend some time reading my vehicle manual. Finally found the windshield wiper control and the hood release. No, not at the same time. I was NOT trying to use my wipers to get rid of an open hood and anyone who says otherwise lies. Linda Sand
  23. Apparently I got the itch. I packed up this morning to go to the grocery store and just kept right on going. West. Towards Arizona. May take me a month to get there, though. Linda Sand
  24. But, not all of us have your flight benefits. Linda Sand
