  1. Jeri, I am sorry for your loss but am glad to hear you should make it to Q for the gathering. Linda
  2. We went to bed early in hopes of being able to drive on home today. Weather did not cooperate. Home tomorrow. We hope. Linda
  3. Jeri, we are all with you in spirit if not body. Take care of yourself during this stressful time. Toni, so you are coming to Minnesota this year?! Linda
  4. We're sitting in Abilene, Texas, waiting for the winds to die down enough to let us head on home. I don't do gusts to 30 mph. Linda Sand
  5. Thanks for all the well wishes. Dave is here with me in Phoenix and we will drive the RV home but stay in motels along the way. We'll take I-10/20 east to Fort Worth before heading north to put off the snow driving as long as possible. We will winterize here before leaving though because it is cold in New Mexico and we aren't sure how far we will get the first day. We are not happy with this solution but it appears the most reasonable path open to us at the is time. I still have dreams of being able to get healthy enough to come back out next winter but that may just be a dream. In the meantime, our daughter got stuck here in Phoenix with a malfunctioning truck so we are having lots of family time and she took all my canned goods that might have frozen on the way home so some good already has come from this. Linda Sand
  6. I surrender! The floor of my shower cracked. That was the final straw. I am going home. I will miss all of you. Linda Sand
  7. Daughter still here so I must not have worked her too hard but I have lots of clean clothes and food in both the fridge and freezer. We both leave tomorrow for Q then Saturday on to Phoenix where she has to go back to work and I get to greet my Dave.
  8. My daughter arrived here today so I'm hoping she planned this to be a working vacation for her. I bought ingredients for her to cook, gadgets for her to install, and gathered up my laundry for her to wash. How long you think she'll stay? Linda
  9. Just realized I don't know how much I've told to whom about my life right now. Our daughter is coming down Tuesday in her truck to spend 3 days with me learning her way around Q and Parker and helping me do chores. Then Dave is flying into Phoenix late Saturday to spend 6 days there mostly just being together. Daughter is thinking about coming down for RV Show but wants to know what that would mean in terms of her being in an HDT. La Posa South said no problem with it being a commercial vehicle but she needs to see the area. I've already told her she'd likely have to bum a ride with someone to the big tent because parking over there is pretty limited during the show. Linda Sand
  10. Are you supposed to make us enjoy your mishaps? Linda Sand
  11. Gee, Lee. By the time I read about your problem with the water tanks you've already solved it. Your not sleeping has to stop; makes you way too productive and I don't want to have to take a Steve. I need to be able to go to bed nights so I can start getting up mornings again. Linda
  12. Lee, You may find your glasses at the restaurant. Took them off while trying to deal with the nosebleed? Linda
  13. Some of us bounce more being more "well rounded" as it were. Linda Sand
  14. We stayed at Imperial Dam once. Too far off the beaten track for us. But we don't have a boat. Have you tried Lake Mittry? Maybe if you come in off US 95 on Imperial Dam Road it won't feel so far away? RVSue was just there so we know there is free boondocking. Linda
  15. I'm at Emerald Cove near Parker where I could have full hookups but I have not connected anything but my electrical cord to run my space heater. I do NOT want to deal with frozen hoses. Sure could use a January thaw about now. Of course the daytime temperatures we are having would qualify as a January thaw if I was in Minnesota. Linda Sand
  16. I'm back at Emerald Cove with my electric heater plugged in. Since I stopped doing winters in Minnesota I've become such a wimp. Of course, our house there had better insulation than this van does. Linda Sand
  17. Dang, Lee. I didn't know your chair was a bucking bronco. Sure hope mine doesn't catch that urge. Hope you will be well enough to come to Q next month--those bruises and sore muscles can take a long time to heal. Linda Sand ps. Hah! Just found myself wondering if you need some horse linement.
  18. A group of us met for a meal last Sunday and we talked so long our server went off duty. But, the new server just left us alone so we kept right on talking. I think Jeri said it was a 2 1/2 hour meal. I was surprised the new server didn't even try to sell us more drinks or desert or anything, though. Linda Sand
  19. I drove to Phoenix Sunday to meet some of the gang for a meal and to do some chores there. Wound up driving back as far as Q on Monday because we are having a winter storm watch now with some strong winds that will lead up to cooler temperatures. Pulled in here just as the sun was setting so I'm parked for today but will head back up to Parker tomorrow then back into my park where I can plug in my electric heater since it could freeze overnights later this week. Keep your eyes on the weather as you travel folks. Linda Sand
  20. It's getting the QD over the fence that's the challenge. Linda Sand
  21. The Classless Class map was custom developed by my Dave. It is not publicly available because he doesn't like to have to support his work. Says he retired from all that. Sorry. Linda Sand
  22. 3:00 at Logan's. I should be able to do that. Looking forward to it. Jeri knows me well. Cracker Barrel is a favorite overnight spot for me. Linda
  23. Hmmm. Maybe I need to go to Phoenix Sunday instead of Monday. What time of day are you planning this feed? Linda
  24. I'm tentatively planning to drive into Phoenix Monday but I have such a long list of things to do while there I may not see anyone this time either. I'll probably spend the night at the Walmart across from San Tan Village or whatever the name of that place is because I expect to spend the evening at the Apple Store doing updates and don't want to have to drive very far after dark. Of course that may all change when I talk to my brothers and they say, "No, you need to do this." Linda Sand
  25. I just copied this from Dennis Hill's blog because it helped me get in a better frame of mind for Thursday: "We were doing fine until mother nature decided we needed some cold rain. We are still doing fine because we are full timers in a recreational vehicle."
