  2. I have the bladder tank and have used it a couple times.
  3. Looks like something that would come in handy. Don't think I would have it full while 5th wheel is hooked up, but would be get to run town and fill and bring back to the rig.

    I do love the beach. I used to camp on the beach in Pismo and do a lot of riding there. I now have moved down outside of Parker AZ waiting for the Parker 425 off road race.

    Was that you, "noteven" pulling out of the BLM camp area north of Lake Havasu about a half hour ago? A KW T300 pulling a toyhauler was pulling out.

    Inverter-Charger

    I run all my small appliances, ceiling fan, TV, microwave and computers off Xantrex Freedom inverter. The only thing that didn't play well with it was a Mister coffee deluxe model coffee maker. I returned one back to Walmart twice before realizing what was causing it to stop working. Got a basic Mister Coffee maker and all is well.

    I have been using the Xanrtex Freedom 1800 in my 5th wheel for the last 7 yrs and it has worked out great for us.
  9. The way I would trouble shoot it is to have someone release the brakes as I was watching the pushrod/slack adjuster at the pot (blocked tires so I don't get ran over). If the rod moves to the release position and the brake is still locked its not a bad brake pot but shoes rusted to the drum. If the rod does not move back into the pot, then it could be a bad pot.
  10. Is the brake sticking after setting for awhile (brake shoe rusted to drum) or is it not releasing fully after the service brakes are released. On mine its dragging after I apply and release the foot brake driving down the road. I came to a stop sign and had a burnt brake smell.
  11. I also have a brake pot on my Volvo hanging up on the right side. I had a wheel seal replaced on that side last trip so I was thinking that maybe the return spring may have been bad on the brake shoes. So I removed the tires and drum, but the return spring looks good. Dummy me if I would have thought before doing that I could have removed the cotter key on the clevis at the slack adjuster and worked the S Cam and the brake pot independently and seen which one was not releasing. When I have time that is what I will try next, before replacing the pot.
  12. It may raise it a little, but not the height of the block until you reach the max throw of the equalizer. Easy way to check the distance is to put a block under "one" tire and measure then put a block under "both" tires and measure.
  13. With a tandem axle there's an equalizer between the springs that keeps the trailer somewhat level if one tire goes over a bump. So by putting blocks under one tire really doesn't do much good. It wont raise the rig much if at all. So to answer your question, you should put blocks under the tires of both axles.

  15. Do you realize the original post was 2 yrs ago? I did ask and they said it was OK to spend the night. There was a security guard driving around the parking lot. I had 2 GPS units running and both were telling me different directions. I was lucky that I was going in on a Saturday and I pulled into a business with a large parking lot to get my computer from the 5th wheel to look on google earth. When I stepped out a police officer was parked in front of me. I asked directions and he said to go out and go under the train tracks. I asked if I would clear, me being 13.6 high. He thought a said follow me. He took me through another way through town. Next day I saw trucks going under tracks so that was the way I went out.
  16. I boondock 90% of the time when I travel, preferably BLM land. I will only stop if there are other rigs around. Just to stop to get some sleep, I look for a Cabalas, a Casino or a truck stop. I don't fill good about stopping at a Walmart. I stopped at a Walmart a couple of yrs ago in Fort Stockton TX. There were about 6 other rigs and that evening I get a knock on the door. Through the window I ask the woman outside what she wants. She asked if I wanted to buy girl scout cookies (don't think it was cookies she was offering). I said no I was not interested. What has served me well is to be aware of my surrounding and be ready to defend myself.
  17. Does anyone know why I cannot connect two laptops to the mobley at the same time. I used to be able to, but now the second one will not connect. I thought you should be able to connect up to 5 devices. I made sure there were no other devices connected at the time.
  18. It is differently the brake shoes rusted to the drums. In my area it would only do it in the winter after rains. When I was working and we would get a fleet of trucks back in and sat for a period of time, we always would have to beat on the drums to get them to release. We had a sliding bar hammer about 6' long that was for breaking tire beads that worked pretty good. My HDT will do it after setting in the winter. Most of the time I can get them to brake loose by going forward and reverse. Be ready for a loud bang when the release.
  19. I will be passing thru Montana in a couple of days. Traveling 94 from Fargo ND to Billings then heading south to pick up 80 at Wells Nv. Don't know if I hit any passes on that route, but hope the weather gets better by then. I don't do WHITE stuff.
  20. Had no problem. Stayed in site #12 for one night the site #63 became available and we moved to it and spent a week there. Have to make sure you swing it wide and had to put the front wheel off the asphalt on a few turns.
  21. Thanks for the link. So its a Mor-ride suspension. Wonder if the right springs were installed or if one of the axles were severely unloaded by going thru a dip and didn't come back into place. Should be a easy fix by jacking it up and letting it settle in place and watch to see if it happens again.
  22. It doesn't look to me like the shackles have flipped. It looks to me like the equalizer assy was put together wrong. The bolt that goes thru the equalizer should be were I draw the line in the picture. Im not sure what that triangle looking piece is for unless it is some kind of extension, but it shouldn't pivot like it did.
  23. Fantastic Bob. After looking at the picture it got me thinking that I should take a walk and take a picture of our rig in the site.
  24. Yea, first thing Monday morning they jumped on it and I was out of there by 10am. Now sitting here in West Yellowstone.
