  1. Maybe not directly, but we use these battery banks in our HDTs, as well. I have 500+ AHs in mine and am planning lithium at the end of this set. Not to stir the pot, but I would venture to guess many HDTers have similar projects and interests. Besides, I personally don't really care what department it's in. Good info is good info. Jay
  2. A link to the batteries you chose? Thanks, Jay
  3. One only needs to know the resistance of both shunts to know if they're interchangeable. The system simply measures the voltage drop across the known resistance to calculate the amperage. If the two shunts are of different resistances, you'll get an inaccurate interpretation of that data. Jay
  4. And we don't like kings. It's a personal preference and one that - I think - is more related to the sizes of the occupants. My wife and I are quite small and prefer the queen, but I would think larger occupants would need more room. Jay
  5. What's wrong with that? Hiring someone to move you occasionally seems waaaayy cheaper than buying and maintaining a truck. Jay
  6. Dang, we just finished that series! It's the first thing I've watched in years that I would score a ten. Exceptional! Jay
  7. Yes, rather than chasing condensation, I'd prefer to just enclose it in a waterproof enclosure and not worry about it. Also, I still pull a commercial trailer, so it doesn't make sense to have it hanging out there when I'm working. Jay
  8. I was referring to the exterior and the latching mechanism. Jay
  9. Yeah, that's what I'm using now, but in plastic. I looked at the metal ones, but they're too cluttered. Jay
  10. Good to know! I think my issue is that I go to an online retailer expecting their products and it's frustrating to find all those hundreds of other options, plus the issue of returns and after sale support. I may consider doing more research. Jay
  11. I would never purchase from one of those non-Wal-Mart retailers. Sorry you got burned. I just select the Wal-Mart.com retailer option only. What happened to you is exactly what I suspected might happen. That ploy seems to be active on so many once reliable sites. It's sad and unfortunate, but I quickly caught on to them. Jay
  12. https://www.raneystruckparts.com/six-trumpet-cast-aluminum-authentic-train-horn-by-usa-train-horns/ Okay, that's the most expensive. There are less expensive ones. Jay
  13. Yes, I've seen those as well. At least mine are clean and organized. I can reach in and grab what I need in a moment - at least on the driver's side. The passenger's side is not great, but I'm working on it...and that's where MY triangles are.... Jay
  14. Lol, that's funny! I only have a 610 and every cubic inch inside is long ago spoken for. 2 inverters, large wiring harnesses, a power distribution board and 2 tool boxes. Jay
  15. Yes, thanks, Phil. I agree, but mine is going inside a free standing enclosure for versatility. Jay
  16. Yes, thanks. I've seen yours and others like yours. You have a very nice, clean install. I do test setups first to determine how I want my finished product and I've decided on the current layout. I need an enclosure that looks like a well thought out, permanent installation, but it has to be removable for my commercial trailer. Jay
  17. Hmmmm... Thank you for the suggestion. It's plastic... I don't know that I want to go with plastic. Aluminum or steel is likely durable and will more easily withstand the forces of plugging in and unplugging the connectors, plus I need to mount it vertically. I'll have to think about it. Jay
  18. Thanks, I've looked at different electrical housings. They tend to be utilitarian, which makes sense, considering their normal application. The ones I've seen online either don't fit size wise, or don't look right, or are really pricy. I haven't actually gone to an electrical supply house, but might after this Covid mess. Jay
  19. My current home for the Jackalopee is a plastic ammo box from Harbor Freight, as shown. I'm looking for a more permanent and attractive solution, preferably aluminum, but a nice powder coated steel box could work too. I've found a couple places online, but either they don't respond, or they want a fortune. I KNOW there has to be a simple and reasonably priced box somewhere, I just can't find it. Any ideas?? Dimensions app. 6" x 10" x 12". Thanks, Jay
  20. Wow, that's cool! I can remember our phone number growing up too - I just checked - but that's about it. I used to be able to remember lots of things, but then I got old.. Oh well, just happy to be alive and healthy.. Jay
