  1. Heavy smoke 100 miles east of Fort Nelson to Fort Nelson. Looking at smoke forecast Fort Nelson is on the fringes and should be clear tomorrow. Hope so, the scenery really starts from Fort Nelson westward. Heard there was a 5th wheel on fire 20 miles east of Fort Nelson. Saw 6 bears today. Road is great shape.
  2. Thought you would like that one!!!!! Call the police, they would know and probably have a contact number.
  3. Do you have a TPMS system and surge protector on your list?
  4. If he belongs to Coachnet or FMCA I believe they both provide that service.
  5. If you camp in mostly locations that have restricted generator hours and a residential refrigerator solar becomes part of the critical mix. We boondock about 50% of the time. Mostly we camp in NFS parks. We have always had at least one panel on all our rigs. This was to keep the batteries charged when in storage, that was the only reason. We bought an MH with a residential refrigerator, camp in locations with restricted generator hours and a larger solar array became imperative. We ended up with 4 165w panels, 4 AGM batteries(this was not part of the solar upgrade). We initially had 2 panels but realized we really needed at least 3, 4 to be sure. We elected to have the additional 2 panels installed as a separate system. Cost us less in the end. We now have enough solar to take care of all our needs with no worries when gone for the day and missing a few generator hours. We run the generator for about an hour in the evening to get to at least a 90% SOC. The batteries easily supply the residential refrig overnight which had been a problem. This forum is very patient when one is going through the learning phase of Rving.
  6. I would think a giant 45" TV would be way too big for an RV. You should defer this decision(which you did) until you get n RV. That will dictate what size tv. Ours came with a 32", we sit about 8' away from it and it is fine. When not in use it lowers into a cabinet and is out of sight.
  7. They are just sales people selling a commodity. Most people don't do due diligence, all emotion.
  8. It would be more convenient to install the solar before you start full timing. Price would be the same and there are good installers across the US. You would just need to travel to them. I would wait to see what your full timing lifestyle will be. If you don't have a residential refrigerator you can probably get by with just using the generator a bit during generator hours.
  9. Have you considered going to the RV Boot Camp? The camp is held across the country at various times. I understand it is a good idea to attend before you even buy an RV.
  10. You are primarily working on your future home. As the time gets closer you will need to consider domicile, medical insurance, mail service, banking etc. Just letting you know you have a lot more research and decisions to make. A good time frame would be to have this all decided and begin transition 3-6 months prior to going fulltime.
  11. Because free-standing generator are cheap relative to the builtin ones some people use them. In National and State Parks, there is a decibel level generators should comply with that are quiet: Honda and Yamaha are normally the brands. Most MH's come with a quiet generator. I think it is time for you to start visiting RV shows and dealers to see that actual application of everything you have read. This will give you a more realistic perspective.
  12. We have one in the bathroom and one in the LR. Many nights we can skip AC and just use the fan. You can buy different versions.
  13. I guess you weren't in Phoenix this year, we had a green desert and the bloom was awesome.
  14. Fantastic and MaxAir are the ones I know. Also, you will need a cover for the fan so you can run it during rainstorms. You will need solar or be plugged in to run them. Minimally we have always kept the vents open(with covers).
  15. Regarding generator. I think you are reading about "construction" generators vs. RV Generator. The generator that comes with your MH should be fine. Regarding Fantastic fans, that has become a generic term(like Kleenex). This style of fan pulls a lot more air(think whole house fan) vs. the standard el-cheapo fan RVs come with. Again, a used MH may have that style in already. Ours came with 2 "Fantastic" fans as standard. Just make sure you get everything inspected and serviced so you know your starting points. Did you mention tires? They are very expensive and probably a pancake compressor would be nice.
  16. I would continue to plan on everything but much of this depends on what is on the MH when you get it.
  17. Just refuse the meds but have the option to take them if needed. Best time to take them, if you are going to, is before PT. I didn't and was fine. The drug I was offered was Oxycodine(sp?). Round, white pills. For the second knee I didn't even get the prescription filled.
  18. I did both knees with no meds. The pain wasn't so bad and easy enough it to tough it out. I couldn't take Tylenol either, I am alergic.
  19. Has rvnotepad.com gone out of business? All I get is "website coming soon". I am on a PC/W10. I had wanted try it to see if it meets our needs.
  20. It is just a challenge. Especially if you want a package to be waiting for you. If UPS won't deliver to anything that doesn't have a street address I really doubt they would deliver to GPS coordinates. This would solve all problem.
  21. Stores don't carry much. Printer Ink, new cord for a computer, parts for the RV. Dutch, general Delivery only works if it initiated via USPS. We won't have a physical address for any length of time until November when we are back in winter quarters.
  22. Still the same problem. I don't have a street address.
  23. Everything is much easier if you are in a campground but we have been boondocking, NPS, NFS or BLM for the 2 months. Heading for Alaska so that type of camping will continue for the next 3-4 months.
