  1. Or, just post them here, for inclusion in the Resource Guide. Sheesh.
  2. A recent article from Alberta Oil magazine gives some names for Canadian companies doing pipeline inspections. Be aware that the distances between "civilization" can be quite large up here.
  3. Working our way back North. Cranbrook, BC tonight, then Red Deer, AB for the weekend. Visit with middle son.
  4. As a member just a little older than Xscapers is targeting, I crossed the $50k mark sometime in late May or early June. My Canadian 401k equivalent is well fed, bills are paid as soon as they hit the inbox, and I still don't have pockets full of $$$. I'm not ready to quit yet.
  5. Rotary Park closed for the season, so we moved south of the Wapiti River to finish off some work projects. The leaves are about 2/3 gone, but there's still some beautiful colours left on a sunny afternoon.
  6. As a service/repairman, I wouldn't waste the time or money on one. We installed a bunch, at a customer"s request. Due to training issues for the end user, we had many, many failures. You don't want to have to work on one that's failed. The thought was to save money by reducing Honey Wagon trips, but repair trips ate any savings.
  7. Hi, Jack. We'll probably be heading South through SLC in a little over a month from now, depending on the weather in Canada. We'd be pleased to keep in touch, and take you for a ride/drive.
  8. Pop over to the test post section. He has a few more pics of his set-up. The Resource Guide has a few, too. Not Vern's rig, but similar design Similar, but longer. Man, I forget how many cool trucks we've had on here.
  9. Nice work. I do love me some build pics.
  10. Did I miss something, George? We're still in the North for the summer, then headed to Phoenix area for the cold season. Rita will house-sit the 5er there while I fly for work, keeping her in the lifestyle she wants to become accustomed to. Wave as you fly to Ontario, I'll keep an eye peeled.
  11. We'll be pulling up stakes this morning, heading from Kelowna to Red Deer. Will be in Red Deer for a couple days, visiting middle son.
  12. Let's don't forget, people. In some truck lines, a 6' 7" bed is a STANDARD bed. The short beds are closer to 5', while the long beds are 8'. All in the semantics. Haven't looked to see what the front of that particular trailer looks like, curved or flat. That also comes into play.
  13. Went to get groceries in Mesa. While there, a car show broke out. Not really, Good Guys have a regular Friday night run at the Basha's store on Main and Signal Butte. Close to 150 cars cars, trucks, and bikes in an unstructured, un-organized fun gathering. General public vehicles cruising up and down the parking lot lanes alongside $$$ rods and customs. Beau coup fun. Couldn't believe we were the only smart car there.
  14. Rolled out of Grande Prairie yesterday afternoon, now in Red Deer, waiting for middle son to finish work. Visit with him tomorrow, then further South.
  15. If anyone wants to jump int the conversation window, click on the chat button up beside the "Anonymous" user icons. Just playing in G-Docs.
  16. Looks like SCFS (Southern Cross Field Services) has a pretty big territory. There was a folder stuck in the door today, that our local Natural gas provider is doing some meter upgrades. They're using SCFS, to install equipment from Itron Inc. Small world.
  17. Rolled into Poolville@17:30 local time. Had a great burger on FM920/Hwy 199
  18. Flying J truck stop on I-15, Great Falls, MT. Still in the frost. Changed air compressor govenor today, thanks to member "Bigstick" Lloyd for the text advice. Updates to follow.
  19. Leaving the frost within the hour. On our way with a "stimulus program" for the Poolville area. Updates to follow.
  20. I got home from work Wednesday night, met up with member Lloyd(Bigstick) for breakfast, and a wash. Lloyd has been up the Al-Can, to Ft. Nelson, and East, and was on his way back home. I showed up at the truck wash with the Dodge, but while waiting went to get the Kenworth. This is what the well dressed drivers are wearing this season: After breakfast, while the trucks were lined up. Lloyd is on the left:
  21. I'm pretty happy calling the seat occupied by estrogen, the drivers seat.
  22. Thanks Davena. I hope to really enjoy our travels and learning to drive the truck. Rita
  23. I'm not sure if Testosterone is allowed in here, but it's for good intent. Please allow me to present the newest pilot, Rita, flying our new T-2000 Kenworth, complete with 3 pedal auto-shift:
  24. Stepping forward, out of the shadows. Been lurking around here for nearly a year, finally registered. Been following bed build stories, truck rig-up threads, and exploring member websites. Currently pulling with a 3500 Mega Cab, which is now borderline, due to a new trailer this summer. Got wife looking at HDT now, even catching some on the road before I do Will have some questions to ask in the future, but most have been posted, and answered already.
