  1. Hi Everyone, I am looking for ideas to where to mount my remote display for my inverter. I have a Xantrex 1800 inverter. My truck is a 2012 Volvo VNL 630. My refrigerator ( factory installed ) is behind the drivers seat. For folks who have a remote display, were did you mount your display ? Anyone have any pictures of their remote display mounted ? Open to all ideas, Al
  2. Hi Dave,

I hope you and Vicki are doing good. I have a non-mechanical question or too for you. I am getting ready to place an order to C&J Farms for some seasonings. What seasonings do you like to use on asparagus ? And also, what are your favorite seasonings that you like to buy from C&J Farms ? I know one of the seasonings I want to get is the Red Steak Seasoning. It also looks like if you order over $45 you can get free shipping. I am looking ideas for seasonings for my spice cabinet.

    Talk to you later,
    Al

    Tinker Week?

Hi Rick, I hope you didn't need any stitches. Are your tetanus shots up to date ? When it comes to working on anything, you never know what is going to happen. You just might need some scotch as an antiseptic to take care of that cut. 😎 Al

  5. Hi Bob, The refrigerator is up and running. The links that you provided worked out great. The fan came from Mouser and the thermostat from https://www.camperid.com/norcold/refrigerator-thermostat-control-assembly-mpn-636495.html?view=050357&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInoyxjfGf4gIVxlcNCh2IYQf7EAQYASABEgJaCfD_BwE Thank you again for the help. 6. Hi Bob, I hope you can get your truck back up and running the way that it use to be. You always wonder way these rodents like to chew on wires. Thank you for you help on some of my past projects. Al
  7. Hi Exile, Nice to hear your paper work is all done and you have your plates. You know they say everything is bigger in Texas. Even the pain in the a$$ to get your paper work. lol. 😎 Al
  8. Hi Kirk, Thank you for the suggestion on the read. I will see if it is on Amazon. I can always use extra reference material. I found the info. Thanks, Al
  9. Hi Everyone, I asked the following question on the Redwood Owners Group site and only had one reply. The trailer is a 2019 Redwood 5th wheel. I am asking the same question here with the hope of more input.I would like to add small lights for the interior steps. My other trailer had them and I used them all the time. The step lights made a great night light. Here are my questions. Is all the lighting in a 2019 trailer work off of 12v ? I don't want to make the wrong assumption when it comes to the voltage.Has anyone added extra lighting to their trailer ? Where did you tap into to get the power ? Does anyone know the name brand of the light switches ? All ideas are welcomed.Al
  10. Hi Carl, That is how I was taught to hold down my side by side (RZR). Al

    DRV accident

Hi Leon, Glad to hear you and your wife were not hurt. Are you spending the summer in Ohio this year ? Al
  12. 2X. Does anyone have a close up picture of the straps ? If you use the thru the wheel straps, do you strap them in an 'X' pattern ? Al
  13. Hi Bob, Thank you the the link to the thermostat control. I have an idea about removing the two fan bolts that are close to the back to the frig. Right now, I have the front two bolts removed. I'll report back later if the idea works. Now I need to order some parts. Denver, I am taking the frig repair as a challenge. My frig is behind the drivers seat in my truck. Al
  14. The next big thing is to find the thermostat for the frig. I have done some Google researches with no luck yet.
  15. Hi Bob, Thank you for the link to the video. I have also found some of the videos from Penguin Refrigeration. His videos where a big help. I even made the LED tester to test the controller. I found out that the thermostat is not working. I did the test with the jumper wire on the controller. The nice thing is that I don't have to remove the controller. I did your test with wiring the fan direct and found out that the fan does not work. Now for the hard part. Is there a little trick or tip to be able to get to the small bolts and nuts that hold the fan ? I wish I had the room that they show in the video. It looks almost impossible to get to the back two bolts holding the fan. Maybe there is a video showing how to remove those nuts and bolts. I am in no hurry about getting the frig fixed. Take care of the farm first. This spring has not been a farmers friend. Thank you again for your help, Al
  16. Hi Bob, I was able to remove the frig. There are two bolts on the left side and one bolt on the bottom left side. The bolt on the floor is covered with a black plastic plug. Now I need to test the frig and frig fan to see what happens. The controller number is 101N0210. Does the controller unplug from the frig ? I do not see any bolts or screws holding the controller. Al
  17. Hi Bob, Thank you for the picture. My frig door opening is not set at an angle like yours. My door opening is 90* for both sides of the frig. I must have a different model of frig then you. The name on my frig is Norcold. My truck is a 630 model. Please everyone, keep the info coming. Al
  18. Hi Radar, Thank you for the link. I now remember reading your write up. Must had some kind of brain fart. lol. I opened the frig door and saw no bolts on the floor with the door open. But there is two bolts on the floor that looks like it holds the cabinet down. They are located behind the driver seat. I will pull out the drawer and see what I can find. It looks like the fuse is behind the frig. There will be more questions for later. Thanks again Radar for the links, Al
  19. Hi Everyone, I have a few questions about the operation of a refrigerator in a Volvo truck. I have had my truck for a couple of years and never tried the refrigerator for what ever reason. I have been curious to know if it works or not. I saw the knob inside the frig and turned it it all the way to the coldest setting. If the frig does not get cold where do I start checking to see if there is power going to it ? I looked in the owners manual and there is nothing about the frig in there. I also looked at all the fuses in the dash and could not find if there is a fuse for the frig. I know there has to be a fuse some where but where is it ? Is there anything that I am missing ? Thanks for any help, Al
  20. Hi Carl, I have a few question for you. Is that cost to do the work from a mom and pop shop or the dealer ? When you said replace, are you talking about new antifreeze ? What do you think the cost of antifreeze alone would be ? You might want to think if you got hurt and had to go to the doctor's office, what would that cost ? Just some things to think about, Al
  21. Hi Sculptor, Thank you for posting the info. It could be a help. Al
  22. Hi Nigel, It is so good to hear from you. I hope you can get to be 100% again. Al
