Ronbo
If you haven’t checked yours recently, it is time to pull the pin. I pulled mine to bleed my brakes and it didn’t work. They are cheap and easy to replace. https://www.amazon.com/Curt-Manufacturing-52010-Breakaway-Switch/dp/B001GN6QQW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509060515&sr=8-1&keywords=rv+breakaway+switch Ron C. 2013 Dynamax Trilogy 3850 D3 2000 Kenworth T2000 Optimus Prime
justRich
Apparently the switch can corrode over time. Pull the pin and spray WD40 into the switch if it fails. Then push/pull the pin numerous times to get it working again - this will get you out of a pinch until the switch can be replaced. ~Rich
GeorgiaHybrid
You need to check your breakaway and make sure that it works at least twice a year. Even better, try it before every trip. If it hadn't been for ours working correctly, I could have injured a lot people last year when our trailer dropped. 2017 Kenworth T6802015 DRV 38RSSA Elite Suites2016 Smart Prime
Ray,IN
One time a granddaughter pulled the cable hanging down from the 5er, unbeknown to me. Next morning I discovered my house batteries were ruined and the breakaway box melted. That was the only time it was ever pulled in 8 years. 2000 Winnebago Ultimate Freedom USQ40JD, ISC 8.3 Cummins 350, Spartan MM Chassis. USA IN 1SG retired;Good Sam Life member,FMCA ." mptjelgin
Our cable got caught on the hitch in a sharp gas station turn. I took me a minute to figure out what was going on!! Brakes worked great... Mark & Teri 2021 Grand Designs Imagine 2500RL, 2019 Ford F-350 Mark & Teri's Travels
