There appears to be a half-dozen or so add-ons for Firefox - does anyone have a favorite one? Using Firefox is great except a lot of the sites we go to have videos that start playing the minute the topic if loaded, which really eats of our monthly data. I'm one of those that actually reads articles, I don't want some talking head blabbering about it. Dutch_12078 Posted November 28, 2015 Report Share Posted November 28, 2015 I don't know if this will work with Firefox on the Mac as it does on Windows, but try going to "about:config" and searching on "plugins.click_to_play". Make sure it's set to "true". Then in "Add-Ons", "Plugins", set the Shockwave Flash plugin to "Ask to Activate". I do find that once the text is displayed on the screen, I can click the "x" in the "refresh" box and it helps stop some stuff from loading. Unfortunately, it usually doesn't stop the video from playing.
