Flash block for Firefox on a Mac

I have 'Click to Flash" on Safari and it works well. There appears to be a half-dozen or so add-ons for Firefox - does anyone have a favorite one? Using Firefox is great except a lot of the sites we go to have videos that start playing the minute the topic if loaded, which really eats of our monthly data. I'm one of those that actually reads articles, I don't want some talking head blabbering about it.

I don't know if this will work with Firefox on the Mac as it does on Windows, but try going to "about:config" and searching on "plugins.click_to_play". Make sure it's set to "true". Then in "Add-Ons", "Plugins", set the Shockwave Flash plugin to "Ask to Activate".

I'm with you, Barb. I want to read the text, not watch some talking head blabber along. I do find that once the text is displayed on the screen, I can click the "x" in the "refresh" box and it helps stop some stuff from loading. Unfortunately, it usually doesn't stop the video from playing.

I'm using Flash Control (you can download and install it from Firefox Addons) and it seems to be working well.

Come back after you use it for a few days or a week and let us know what you thing then. I was just looking at some reviews on that same Add-on.
