Hi i was watching a you tube from a hdt rally and they showed i guy with a pete that had a bw hitch sitting on his fifth wheel sliding  plate

Can i use that for a temporary period of time. Or does every one have air ride hitches.

Air ride hitches aren't mandatory, but they give a better ride to the fiver and help protect it. Plus, it's a more comfortable ride for the people passengers. Having at least an articulating hitch is a huge improvement over fixed. Jay

If your fifth wheel has air ride hitch it would likely be good. I have used one on my previous DRV and a dually. It floated right along. Now preferred way is air ride on truck. And a ET hitch would be easier to mount also. It comes in from behind between the frame rails and bolts in. Run an air line and you set. If you put a B&W on it would be too tall on top of rails. You would need to weld in a plate lower and mount to it.
