Electrical System Issues in RV - Flickering Lights and Struggling Generator, Need Help Troubleshooting

Recommended Posts

I am having issues with the electrical system in my RV and am in need of assistance. Specifically, I am experiencing flickering and dimming of the lights when running multiple appliances simultaneously, and my generator is struggling to start. I am unsure of the cause and would like to know if it could be related to my inverter, converter or the generator itself. Can anyone provide some guidance on how to troubleshoot these issues and what steps I should take to resolve them? Are there any specific products or upgrades that I should consider to prevent this from happening in the future? Any tip to increase my generator output power?

It sounds like your batteries are low or failing.  That would explain all the issues you are describing.  It could also be a bad ground at the batteries that is causing the issue.  A meter reading of your battery voltage will tell you if the batteries are low.

Welcome to the Escapee forums! My first thought is the same as suggested by Chad. It does sound like your coach battery/batteries is/are failing. It would help if we knew more about your RV, like the year, make, and model.
