GlennWest
As many know on here, I installed a mini split system in our Teton. Our Bedroom AC/heatpump not been used since. It needed a compressor fan. I removed it today and patch opening. Found out not really any way to keep roof material stretched without an anchor point. Small patch so wrinkles shouldn't be a problem. Disappointing but only airplanes will see it. lol. This opens up a large area on front for solar later. 2003 Teton Grand Freedom towed with 2006 Freightliner Century 120 across the beautiful USA welding pipe.https://photos.app.goo.gl/O32ZjgzSzgK7LAyt1

If it was a standard roof opening why not install a vent? Just curious.
GlennWest
Mine is ducted. No inside opening. Also main reason for removing is to open up top for solar later. Acs cause shading and limit area. 2003 Teton Grand Freedom towed with 2006 Freightliner Century 120 across the beautiful USA welding pipe.https://photos.app.goo.gl/O32ZjgzSzgK7LAyt1
oldbutspry
Do you have any pics of what the opening looked like after removing the AC? Just curious what the innards look like.
GlennWest
Sorry, didn't take any. It was 14 1/2" square opening. Plastic baffle under it for flow direction. After removing unit had to remove baffle also. then patch ductwork. We still using rear ac. 2003 Teton Grand Freedom towed with 2006 Freightliner Century 120 across the beautiful USA welding pipe.https://photos.app.goo.gl/O32ZjgzSzgK7LAyt1
