jblo
Wife and I are beginning to plan for selling house and moving to a place that we can use to live in and store the fifth wheel. Have begun an internet search but not finding much that looks like what I am searching for--pictures and available plans for a metal building with finished outside that doesn't look like a 'metal building'--if I am saying this right. Lots of barndominiums and such, but seem all to be with the RV space centered and small spaces on either side. And wanting to stay somewhere in Texas at this time. Not wanting at this point to engage an architect, or have Mortons/Mueller and such builders inundate me with stuff. Just looking for something already built/designed that might grab my eye, and so the wife can look the floorplans over. Might be asking too much for a starting point. Thanks for anything you can point me to. Don't have a lot of years left to do something, hoping to find that starting point while the housing market is good around home to sell... jblo
Thanks, probably looking for something more simple in style. I am hoping to find about 3/4 ac and place the Suites to live in while we have a structure built. Just hoping to find an off-the-shelf style/design plans to look at that doesn't require having an architect design from scratch. That is one nice-looking setup. Excuse me, did not scroll down thru the options--some possibilites and will study them. Thanks again, Joe

jblo
Kirk, Thank you. The structures are very much like I am thinking about, and nice drive from DFW to take a look at. Joe
Kirk W
,...The structures are very much like I am thinking about, and nice drive from DFW to take a look at. I'd be happy to show you around if you do choose to come out. We are roughly 70 miles to the east of Dallas, between exit 544 and exit 548 of I-20 and just under a mile to the south. The county road that we are on would be exit 546 if there were an exit but there isn't one. We are a 65 lot community which operates very similarly to the Escapee co-op parks. At this moment there are 4 places for sale here, one with storage building and RV hookups only, one with a small cabin & RV pad, and two homes that include covered RV space. If you wish to visit just drop me an email at Woody(at)1tree(dot)net and we can arrange a visit. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... Smitty77_7
http://www.barnpros.com/barn-plans-products.aspx?itemid=1547&pagetitle=Denali+Garage+w-Apt Been looking over the Denali line, toss up between the 60' or 72'. Lots depends on where, if, we end up buying some land:)! We can get by well with the 60', but the 72' would allow the DW to have a dedicated painting and crafts area. We'd also modify the no living side, to add sections of sliding scissor dual bane 12' glass doors. This way we'd pull the coach over about 5' off of that wall, be able to open the doors to the outside. I wanted a deck built off of of the living quarters that would double as a patio cover fro this area, but the DW thinks it would be better to put that on the other side, and let the openness of the sky be closer to where the patio side of the RV would be parked. So, we'll see. (She said we could add fold out awnings, if the sun became a problem during part of the day, or to extend outdoor patio space in moderate rains.) These can be finished off as easy and simple as you like, or go all out and make them into anything you want. From outside rock face like covering, to inside fancy kitchens, baths, etc. We'd add a dumb waiter to get stuff up/down the stairs. And add power to the stair well to be sure we can get a stair lift in for times in the future that may be needed. And of course, we've talked about this off and on for a few years now - so who knows what we'll end up doing:)! But interesting website, with different levels and different formats to consider. Best of luck to you, Smitty Be safe, have fun, Smitty 04 CC Allure "RooII" - Our "E" ride for life!

Lorrie
Tuff Shed has a tall barn for not very much money. You can make the living space upstairs and garage downstairs. I dont think it will fit RV. I was looking at the tall barn but think I may sell my property in CA since I live in Mexico, 8 months out of the year. Anyone looking for property in CA, 2.34 acrea!
