HDT Sighting - Washington, PA

We were going through Washington, PA heading west on I70 earlier this morning and got passed by a gray T2000 tandem axel with a Smart on the deck. Pulling a Cedar Creek 5er. We were in a white T600. Just wondering if it was anyone from the forum. This was our first trip in our HDT, so it was cool to another one on the road.

Yes that was us who passed you, we are in Delaware Ohio until Sunday then back on 70 to the Thousand Trails park in Clinton In. Where are you and where else will you be heading? Safe travels

Sorry for the late reply. Got sidetrack with some drama and wasn't focused on being online for a few days. After we crossed paths in PA, we headed down through KY on 75, heading to Knoxville. About 30 miles from the TN line we had a tire blow out on our trailer. We were able to get it changed quick and find a KOA down the road to stay at while we sorted things out. 4 new tires and a day later we were back on the road and headed back to TX. We started out on 2 June and headed to TN to visit my wifes family and then on to Western PA to visit mine. We were on the way back home when we saw you. Other than the tire drama, we were fine. Hope you guys made it to IN ok.

Sorry to hear of your tire problems but glad you are safe and were able to get things fixed, safe travels the rest of the way and yes made it to Indiana, now listening to the rain this morning and hopes it stops before we plan to head out, going as far as Casino Queen to see the Arch today let's hope it dry out.

Any specific reason for all 4 tires? What size?

So the full story is that we had a blow out on the way up to PA as well as on the way back. At that point, I didn't have confidence in the 2 remaining tires and we needed to get home to get back to work. I figured 4 new tires would give us a better chance of making it home. The tires that blew were 235/85/16 and had been on the trailer for about 3 years. I thought I did a good job of maintaining them, but maybe not. We also got a Tireminder TM66 system to monitor the trailer tires. Would have went with the TST, but couldn't find one readily available. Overall the TM66 seems to work well even though it wasn't my first choice. I guess something is better than nothing.

dblr,

Glad you made it in safe and hope things dried out for you and you made it to the Arch. Safe travels the rest of the way. Hope to cross paths again on the highways.
