Orvil Hazelton
MERRY CHRISTMAS. Your routing over I-15 takes you over Cajon Pass just south of Barstow. Nothing to worry about, the pass is long, reaching just over 3000 ft. Leaving Baker, CA, you'll climb Mountain Springs Pass. Again long, going from Sea Level to over 4000 ft. These passes shouldn't be too challenging and the roadway is pretty good. Watch your coolant temperatures, keep your RPMs up and you should have an enjoyable trip. MrSeas
Cajon pass is 4000 + ft and be aware I15 in that area is under construction down to the I215 split. Traffic conditions change based on what type of construction they are doing.
Not A Clue
How is I-15 and Rt 127 into Pahrump ? Any major hills, up or down that I should be concerned about ? Road conditions ? Thanks in advance As noted before just the Cajon Pass on the I15. Hwy 127 is a nice two lane highway, very little traffic. We take it every Thanksgiving heading t Pahrump for the weekend. Lou Schneider
Use I-215 to get to the Cajon Pass on I-15 and you'll save a couple of miles. 127 has a long, gradual climb to a pass south of Tecopa then there's another on 178 between Shoshone and Pahrump. Nothing to worry about.
