hdrider
We left California today. Our last week was boondocking just outside of Borrego Springs. Will be in Yuma for a week then up to Phoenix through the holidays. Plan to see y'all in the area while we are there. Travel safe everyone. Onthego
Did they cut back on the boondocking area outside of Borrego as reported? It didn't seem like it to me. It was our first time though. We were at Rockhouse Canyon Trail. The state park surrounds it. Peg Leg had just down the road had 6-8 rigs, we had 20 or so and not close together. There were a few rigs across the highway from us also. palamine
Toni if you had said that tall "GOOD LOOKING" guy they would have remembered me. I was only able to be there for one day because a friend was going through Lake Havasu so we went back to meet them. I was the one with the toy hauler and I had the yellow dune buggy. Doug and Toni it was a pleasure talking with you guys, thanks for all the info, hope to meet up again. Holy cow. When you leave early, you mean it. 6:15 am and your outta here. Good luck. We will see you down the road. Always have been a early riser, and I haven't been retired long enough yet to see if that will change. I'm sure glad I did, we got to Las Cruces at 1:30 where we were going to spend the night and about 30 min after getting here the wind started to blow pretty bad. The site is level so I wasn't going to drop the landing gear, but the trailer was rocking so bad I dropped the landing gear and about 10 min later the rear stabilizers. Set back and had a few beers and took a nap and woke up at 5pm and the wind died down. Hope its not bad in the morning so I can leave and get to Fort Stockton and stay at a Walmart for the night I heard was a good place to overnight. (Did I hear that from you?) It was a pleasure meeting you and Doug and hope to meet up again. palamine
Well now we know why casino campers at Casino Del Sol park in the far far side of the lot. We always wondered what the casino would do if they had an event in the amphitheater. Now we know. They ask you to move. We could have moved with the other 30 or so rigs to the other side of the lot but then there would have been 50 or so rigs packed in tight. Not for us. We decided to pack up and head to Casa Grande. Easy drive in familiar territory. We are at the SKP park Rovers' Roost and are very happy to be here. Warm hugs all round and even made a new friend. So now there are four couples here in Casa Grande and we can't wait to see y'all. Striper
Glad to see that most everyone is having nice weather. Things here are WET and COLD. But it's still one of the prettiest places on earth to be. That said, next week I'm going to head North for a while and make sure BC is still there. Wouldn't want Tony and Doug coming home only to find it had moved. Tony knows where Lac La Hache is and can probably tell what the weather there is like. So for now though. Onthego
MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL!!!!!! Joe, down here in the desert Southwest we are very cool (50's) and rainy with some wind. Suppose to be sunny tomorrow. We have been in Jeep limbo this week. It decided to not run last Sunday. Had it towed to a shop on Monday and got it back the first time Wednesday afternoon. Thursday morning it was hard to start so back it went. Got it back yesterday afternoon and it started this morning. Runs great when it runs. We had planned to move to Phoenix this past Wednesday, now we'll move this coming Wednesday. There were things we wanted to do here but couldn't without the Jeep. Life on the road. Travel safe everyone. Striper
What are you going to do in Lac La Hache? and for how long? Not real sure just what all we will be doing. I'm more the trip photographer than anything. I have heard we will be attending a huge Bon Fire, ring in the New Year Celebration. Will be there a week or so. Return date not really set yet. Onthego
Well we are still in Jeep limbo. After starting on Saturday morning we went out a couple of hours later and it wouldn't start. I messed with it some stopped for lunch then tried again. This time it started again and after shutting it off and restarting several times I took it for a test drive. Tina and I then went to the store. When we came out it wouldn't start. I called the rv park and someone came and got us and our groceries. On Christmas day the same guy and I went and towed it back to the rv park. I'm going to throw some parts at it and if it doesn't start we'll tow it to Phoenix tomorrow. steved44
Jeff, sorry you're having Jeep troubles. I hate those intermittent problems the most! You'll have to tow it over here to Havasu and let us work on it a while. We're working on 5th wheels, ATV's and Tiffin cabinets, so a Jeep would probably round out the mix just fine ! Onthego
I must have thrown the right part at the old Jeep. It's running again. I changed out the ICM. We've kind of lost confidence in it so it will build back slowly I'm sure. On the Phoenix tomorrow. Travel safe everyone. steved44
Jeff, glad you have the old Jeep going again. Those electronic parts can sure be a pain. We have our drawer back together and working now. Of course it's the main one we use all the time and it fell apart right in the middle of the Christmas cooking frenzy!! After Paul worked on it it will probably outlast the bus now! Nothing like an air stapler, wood glue and some gussets to rehab this thing!
