steved44
Hey, pulled the pin and headed up to Kansas. We are parked at Wilson lake north of I-70 east of Salina. Nice park, looks like everything is reserved for tomorrow night through the labor day weekend. We just needed one night and were able to get a pull through site right on the lake. Nice little lake, wish I had time to get the boat out and explore it. Lost a front hub cap on the bus today. Aarrgghh, probably a $100 Freightliner item. but other than that everything was smooth sailing. We enjoyed a great sunset and even a campfire to top it off. Someone had left wood in the fire ring, so you know I had to make use of it. I learned this from IYQ Quote 2007 Tiffin Allegro Bus 42 QRP"BessyBus ll"ATT hot spotWinegard TravelerM&G Braking systemRoadmaster Sterling tow bar08 Dodge Dakota toadSea Eagle 10.6sr Inflatable 1957 Johnson 5.5SKP 98998 Class of "08"
IYQ
The cowgirl that was staying in the commercial RV park down town moved out here to the State Park this morning. She's in the second site behind me. We went up to Cimarron Canyon to see a friend that is hosting there and buy some fire wood hoping to have a campfire tonight. We made plans to go eat dinner in town and come back and start the fire. But before we got ready to go eat two other mutual friends arrived and we sat and talked so long that we knew it would be dark before we got done eating. So, we decided to go to Taos in the morning and get some stuff to roast over the fire tomorrow night. Giving her the chance to pick up some stuff you can't get here and letting me get to a pharmacy to replenish all my supplements. So I guess we have tomorrows entertainment all figured out now. One of the other cowgirls that was here before is coming back next week. So I won't have any shortage of cowgirls. weaverworks
Hey Steve........check at a truck stop for that front hubcap. They sell "Look-A-Likes" to match Freightliners and are pretty cheap! Been there, done that! hdrider
Yep,, what Paul said. We lost one and bought the look alike for I think $20. I went ahead and bought 2. One is still stored below foe when it happens again. The only diff is the look alike does not say Freightliner on it. But heck,, by the time I walk from one side of the MH to the other I forget anyway LOL!! Striper
Hey Steve, had that happen to me also. Went to a Freightliner dealer and the new MATCHING hubcap was $42.00 plus something for the governor. Wanderin
We've certainly had more than our issues this month. First our hot water tank went out in the motorhome. Then we discovered the repair person connected it right but then discovered water leaking everywhere. Repair person had knocked the sink disposal pipe off. Now we have to replace the warped floor. Next, we knocked off our antenna from low branches. Our awning needs to be replaced. We discovered a big rip in it a couple weeks ago. Yesterday our fuel pump died on the Jeep driving down the freeway. We certainly had an issue with Coach-Net on that one. Now we discover that the refrigerator in the "cabin" needs to be replaced. Ever feel like Job? We need a sugar daddy. Wow! It's raining hard this morning. We haven't seen that in quite a while. I hope it keeps up. If it does, it'll keep everyone away over the holiday weekend. My fingers are crossed. We had an issue when ours was replaced last summer. They hooked the wires for electric side of the water heater to our engine batteries instead of the house batteries. Ended up completely draining the batteries, so had to replace them. Lucky we figured it out before we drained those batteries also. Let us know when you find that sugar daddy. We'll get one too. sandsys
Family gathering at Dave's sister's house on Labor Day. Our daughter, the trucker, got a load that would let her be here. When she went to pick it up they asked for her hazmat certification. She doesn't have one. Now she has two loads that will bring her this way on Labor Day but maybe not in time for the family picnic. We have her new refrigerator so I sure hope she gets here. Life is just bumpy sometimes. IYQ
A busy day today. Spent most of the day in Taos with the cowgirl that moved out here the other day. Then this evening we started a campfire and roasted corn on the cob, potatoes & onions, and hot dogs over the fire and heated up some baked beans. The couple we invited to join us brought a veggie plate. The cowgirls roasted marshmallows. A good time was had by all. Now i have a full belly and am getting very sleepy nite nite. steved44
Well we made it to my sister's house in Colorado this evening. Nice drive, but nothing in Kansas to look at. It was hot too, about 102 most of the way, so I ran the generator and roof air units all the way. We are dry camped on the street in front of her house this evening, but I should be able to hook up a 15A cord tomorrow. At least it's cooling off now, but it will take a while for the bedroom to cool off after the engine heating it up all day. dlcarsonak
Steve When you stop and need to go to sleep soon, open the hatch to the engine. That lets the heat out faster. I did that on the Class C that I had. You other MH people can do that also. You can see us in Wy. it is not far from Co. IYQ
I tried to post last night but Madam Verizon had a different idea and wouldn't give me an internet connection. So yes I'm still alive and I'm having a ball. However my cowgirl friend is planning to head south tomorrow morning so this coming week might get a little dull. I'm due to move Monday a week from now. I'm heading South also but at a much slower pace. The nights here are getting into the low forties and high thirties so it's that time of year to follow the sun.
