Join (usually there is a fee) one of the tow operator forums - and read who *they* like for Motor Clubs! The service *they* receive (get paid in a timely fashion, etc.)  as a contractor is an interesting topic.  Too soon to tell for SKPs.

Really wise consideration. Sounds like you have an idea already. Care to PM me the one you use?:D

  2. This is a slight conundrum as I would like to change to something at least equal but cheaper and support "our club" group but it is not a ton of difference price wise and I have had experience with the one I use and although it wasn't as seemless as they sometimes talk about the outcome has been positive except  the last one and they tried to accomodate me on that one. I think it might have worked out if I had chosen to  with their choice but the decision was mine and I am mostly happy with it. (I ended up with an $85. tow chg. on the truck alone,)   At any rate I have recieved more than my monies worth using the one I  have so I likly will stay for at least another year to get more feedback on the escapees offering. I still have at least 4months to decide.  My biggest gripe currently with the one I have now is when I renew and pay online and I think early there is a discount and then they  tell me to print out a new card.  WELL I don't have a way to print out a card and they can't seem to mail me one. They are not the only company that does that to you these days which is frustrating a little but the Tow insurance is still valid and I leave the confirmation email in my email archives until the next year.

  3.  I was just wondering if there was anything to look for.  This is my 3rd go round on this rig in 20 years. The one that held out the longest was the original.  The second was an upgraded brand that I can't think of right now but had the remote device and it lasted about 2 years and some part burned out. This one is used takeout factory original that I bought from some skp that upgraded and it is about  3 years old since I got it used. Its not a high dollar one but has worked fine until recently. Usually my small solar will sufice.  Sometimes stuff just happens.

  4. Confirming a second time what Yarome is saying about the waiting list. That is pretty much what the lady told me last year when I stopped to look. By building on order they don't tie up a lot of money in finished trailers sitting around trying to find a buyer.  A little inconvienent for some potential customers but sort of make good sense to me in a lot of ways.

  5. I looked at 2 last year on their property. I believe that was all they had on hand. I just noticed the one outside as I was passing throught the town so I had to stop and look. My observation pretty much mirror  Yaromes.  I sort of think of them as a larger version of the Casta's.  If I had a home base I would think they might be best for some extened travel but not fulltiming.  It depends on you and what you can live with.  I have known at least 3 people that full timed in the Casita's.

  6. Free advice eddie, FWIW, pay particular attention to the roof if it is epdm or the like at that age and budget for a replacement or if you go the route of a treatment be sure you get someone competent to do it if you can't.   I let mine ride a little too long and I got where I couldn't risk getting up there myself so I got a treatment that was not as good as it should have been. Consequently I am dealing with it in the winter months the best I can.

  7. It is stunning the small openings they can get through. I volunteered at a SP once that had a major issue and folks used the light trick and it seemed effective. Some use rope lights and some used spotlights shining under the rig. That is what I used and it seems like it worked.  Didn't help with the ants though.

Just sending a note stating I am out of state worked for both the truck in Sep. (2016) and the trailer in Oct. Nice to know that the alternative to on line works. (at least through the Livingston tax office)

Just did the same thing on the truck this year (2017) and it worked flawlessly again.

This time they said in the future I would need to include a photo copy of my drivers license and not just the DL no. on the check.

  9. I don't think it is very far up to Mesa and I was up there on some main street going east and there were quite number of dealers including Camping world and some others that seem to be busy dealers. I know one was running a sail on Artic Fox trailers and 5thW. It might have been east Main St. or Broadway.

  10. I have not followed this post but if you look at the folks posted above you on this forum under their Avatar you see their skp # as I can see yours in your post. That is your club membership #. I don't know about the specific msg you are getting but if I am not logged in to the dissussion forum I will get something similar when trying to open links in posts I am reading. In other words I can read a post without being able to open a lot of links or do a reply to a topic. There may be other areas that respond the same way. To access some other functions like access my mail account I have another user id and password. I don't use it often so I sometimes forget the password and have had to call the office to get it reset. Once I get it I can access all the secure part that is for members only. Best answer is check with the office about that. I don't use the same info to acess that area as I do the forum.

  11. Can anyone briefly explain what the difference between me accessing the internet on my laptop or at the library vs using a tablet with Android. I seem to not see much comment about stuff like virus protection and filters "and constant updating like I see with "Windows" Just give me the basics and let me try and absorb it if you can. Thanks

  12. What smart phone? I don't have no stinkin' smart phone. I don't want to save it to the computer at the library either. I know I am old but in some cases I just like to have a piece of paper in my little hand. Like in the outhouse, sometimes paper is just the greatest. To be clear I am pulling your chain just a little here. Nothing wrong with your way of doing it but it is nice to have an alternative.

I am editing today 10/6 rather than adding another post. I just got my new sticker so sending in the note stating I am out state worked. Nice to know the alternative can work. I also got letter in the post stating I would not be getting a renewal notice on my TT which is due at the end of Nov and need the inspection so I will be contacting Tax office to clarify that since I will still be out of state.
