  1. Roger that. I only press just enough to disengage. Thanks.
  2. Hello All, I am trying to isolate my final noises. My new cab mounts eliminated most of the noise. After having read some posts about noises and clutches I tried a few things as I was driving. One, I tried lifting the clutch pedal with my foot, no change in noise. Two, I pressed to the bottom of the free play and no change. Three, I pressed the clutch until it disengaged and the noise went away. So to me it could be possible that the clutch, worn down to about 35-40% remaining, could be the culprit. Thoughts?? I still need to look at the dampener on the front of the engine. Other than obvious damage or cracks I don't know how to tell if that is bad. Thanks, Chuck
  3. Awesome information Kirk. Yes, the blower does stop when the system is turned off. If I adjust the temperature up some from say 72 to 75, it seems to cycle on and off as you would expect it too. Thanks again.
  4. Oh. Ok thanks. I didn’t know that. I thought it was the outside. I will have to take the measurements on the next warm day and when I have a day off. I start my week on hitch tomorrow. I’ll have to look for the manual online. I am sure I tossed it. So much for the plug and play days eh? I did pull the styrofoam cover off after it had been running for a while. It had a little bit of frost along the top and a little along the bottom. Not enough to be frozen up.
  5. We’ve had this for about a year and a half now. It’s a 2017. It only had about 4,400 miles when we got it so I think it sat for most of its life until we got it. The first few trips it was pretty cold. Then it changed. I just checked the output temperature and it is only about 8-10 degrees cooler than outside temperature. The thermal overload protector was pretty hot. I don’t know if that’s normal or not and didn’t test resistance yet. This last trip I finally got an error code on the thermostat. “E1”. Some sort of communication error. Maybe the control board?
  6. In Virginia I Registered mine as a private truck. I do have a CDL. I got insurance as a private truck. And it’s currently only 70$ a month through State Farm. The only trailer I am supposed to pull right now is a fifth wheel camper. Of course I would need to add that to the insurance. Might be able to add another trailer if I talk to them. Virginia registration form has two blocks at the top asking if it will be registered as a commercial or private. That’s it. I called and they didn’t care. You just pay more for the registration because of the weight. It was a little more than 500$ for a year.
  7. Cool. Must have a nice ramp to run it up there. Chuck
  8. My wife wants to know if that container is the wife’s closet? Haha
  9. Hello All, What can cause an AC unit to continuously run other than having the fan in low or hi? It has been freezing up here and there. I fixed some leaks between then input and output side. Of course I don’t think that’s going to make it run non-stop. Is there a component up on the unit that might need replacing? I have already put a new thermostat and freeze sensor that goes into the evaporator. Chuck
  10. That’s always a great practice. We also have a stash of food and essentials. In addition to the current world situation there’s always natural disasters and such. I try to take out a hundred or so a payday and put it in a safe place for the day it will be needed.
  11. Yep that’s the one I saw. Hopefully one of these days I’ll get my conversion done. There’s been a lot of necessary repairs that needed to be done.
  12. I couldn’t get the link to open. But Fort Chiswell is right about where we saw it.
  13. Ok thanks. I was just thinking about things. After reading all these I may very well keep it tandem. I have already put a lot of work into it. It may just be easier and cheaper to add a rv fifth wheel and take the commercial one off. I was also kinda of thinking about doing hotshot with it if I don’t get the rv side going. ???? Lots of things to consider.
  14. I was heading south on 77 from Virginia to Elkin NC today. I saw a nice black rig hauling a fifth wheel heading north on 77 up to Virginia. Not sure who it was but I hollered for my wife to look but she missed it.
  15. That's a great idea. Thanks. I know there are several places in the area with a lot of trucks that are picked over. Maybe they would have one. Guess I could go find out.
  16. Not sure about all the shops. I know the Dealer (Stealer, haha) is charging $145/hr. But I don't know that that is a job they would do anyway.
  17. I am curious to know from those who have done this, what kind of price is it to get it done? Does it take a long time? I may need to get brakes next spring and wouldn't want to spend money on that and then turn around and take an axle off. Thanks, Chuck
  18. Oh I forgot. No it is pretty easy to find what you need. Harbor freight has a lot, Lowes has a pretty good selection. Not too far away there is a place here that is like Harbor Freight but better. Prices are good as well. It is called Hanover Tool. You could search your area and see if you have something like that.
  19. It did fit. I have about an 18" 1/2 drive breaker and a 24" combo 3/8 and 1/2" breaker. I also have the step ups/downs. I would recommend using 1/2 or 3/4" where possible. I have broken 3, 1/2" drive breaker bars already, at the fitting for the socket. Last one was on me since I didn't see the bar was coming loose from the socket. And since it wasn't seated all the way it twisted right off. Oh well. At least I didn't break anything on myself this time! hahaha.
