  1. I'm no expert but I do like access to the Internet when traveling. My solution was to have choices. My primary Cell phone is our T mobile senior "Magenta Plus" for both my wife and I. Secondly I added a "Visible" cell phone on the Verizon Network and we also have the "ToGo" on the AT&T data network. Couple all this with Wilson WeBoost65 and so far, it's worked pretty well. Not perfect by any means but for our use and once in awhile streaming, we have plenty of data to keep us happy.
  2. Since no one has answered up yet, I have had Visible for 15-18 months, always trying to keep at the 25.00 rate. My comments probably won't help much but I use it only if our primary T mobile phones are not available. It has come in handy where T mobile will not work for both cell coverage and Data streaming. Having it at 25 a month is worth it to us as I'm sure many others do the same. I probably shou l d use it more than I do.
  3. WeBoost here also(RV65).....I generally just use it with a mounted omni directional antenna. Have not had the need to raise it up on the mast so far. Maybe when we get to doing some more traveling after Covid!
  4. I sent a note off to Winegard…..they replied that they would supply the Admin password(I assume that's needed if wanting to change sim's?). They also related that AT&T will still offer plans but Data will be capped. In my case, I bought the TOGO as a back up so one of the plans offered after the unlimited goes away was a 325.00 a year with a 100 GB cap. ….that would work for me or even one of the monthly plans. Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
  5. So I just sign up for this and looking for some "Party People" to Join..... Party name "RVNTime".....
  6. I have the ToGo and I'm seriously looking at the Visible! My Cell carrier is T-Mobile who also is a Hot Spot. We're you able to get in on the 25.00 per month with Visible and are you currently using it? Just wondering how its all working out?
  7. I have an older motorhome and I'm finally thinking seriously about getting some Solar BUT I plan to keep it rather simple and small(12 Volt Panels vs higher voltage). I figure I can get 6-8 100-160 watt Panels on my roof with all the other junk. My Inverter is built in so no need. I do plan to be in "Q" proper on 1/23 but I'll be in near by Parker the two weeks prior. We'll see how it goes!!
  8. I'll be in "Q" too and if they are still available and the price is right, I'd have an interest also. I'll check back here to monitor the sale/progress.
  9. I just bought one myself...I could have waited to "Q" darn it.
  10. So the complaint is someone asking to pet your Dog? Wow....I can understand being uptight about Kids and/or adults suddenly reaching down to Pet an animal BUT asking first is an issue? Just my take, I'm an animal Lover and dogs are a big part of our lives. So, Yes, when I see a person walking a Dog that is passing close to me, I will ask before I reach, if its OK to pet there Doggie! I know well that some dogs are nervous and can get excited causing a negative contact(I have a dog such as that) that I'm very careful with. Just the same, I would always prefer to be asked rather than Not!!! IMHO
  11. I have mine but haven't installed yet but I didn't know about the Sling TV deal....guess I better read over the literature again.
  12. The Togo is extremely lite....and it comes with an AT&T sim card installed.
  13. We have done the procedure with the special detergent but I'll have to ask the wife about the frequency she is doing that wash. Thank you..
  14. Doc.....I've been following your lead on all things Direct TV and like you, I'm ready to throw in the towel and after 20+ years with Direct, get out altogether. I wrote over on IRV2 about this weeks talk with Direct regarding upgrading equip(namely H24 receiver)….. 7 Rep's including three supervisors and close to 90 minutes on the phone produced Nothing!!
  15. Got my ToGo Wednesday, will get it up on the roof over the weekend to install but may wait to activate until our next trip out. In the back of my mind I keep thinking the Data Plan might disappear...so may activate right away! 🙂
  16. OK....so I have the vented combo unit and have had a recurring problem. The first time, I pulled it out and cleaned up the Lint all the down into the machine as possible. The dryer functioned for about 5 loads then back to shutting down again during the dry cycle. With this info about the thermostats, it makes me wonder if maybe my issue was two fold, Lint and Thermostat?
  17. Just to add on to this topic, if I may, I just ordered a Connect 2.0 but I'm thinking I may return it and go with the ToGo unit instead. My phones are T mobile so having an AT&T hot spot for 360.00 a year seems like a bargain? If I could find a data only sim compatible with the Connect at close to the same price, I'll keep the Connect but I believe as of now only AT&T/Verizon are the only ones that will work with the Connect? Help???
  18. In all my years of Direct TV(25+), not once have I realigned my dish antenna. Come to think of it, even when I had that huge 12 foot mesh dish receiving everything before encryption....never once adjusted that either. Yes, Satellite has been good to me especially the early days of it(big dish wise) LOL
  19. Baker's Hole...one of the half circle pull through sites would be excellent for you although they are electric sites which makes the cost go up to pay for electric(no discount on electric even with Geezer). Love the place though!!
  20. I keep telling a buddy of mine what a perfect truck this would be for him. He recently retired, wants to get a Nice but heavy 5th wheel and he'd have no worries towing it with this beautiful truck. Even told him I'd drive him back to pick it up....so I'm trying real hard!! LOL If I was in the market for a 5er, I'd be all over this. Maybe if I sell the MH and my 96 Dodge 1 ton dually in my drive way(only 26,000 original miles)...yep, it doesn't get used much.
  21. Ok then....Excellent information on that IRV2 Post. Thank You for researching this to the extent you did. I'll have to refer others to this Topic...to coin a phrase, I'll be a Happy Camper if things go the way explained although to be honest, after 30 years with Direct, I might consider a change. Thanks again...
  22. With all Due respect Doc, I think I covered that with my last statement regarding my Post being a question. I understand that we are talking about the 101 Sat and my single LNA/LNB dish can only point at One satellite, that Satellite being 101. If what you say is true, then the only thing I'll have to do is upgrade my receiver and hope that they keep enough programming on the 101 Sat which as I understand, we don't know how many channels that Satellite will carry! There are plenty of people saying that the Sky is falling over this whole deal...does anyone really Know? I've heard just now that 2020 is the new date the change is taking place. My assumption regarding my Dish was because before this change, to receive HD you needed a multiple LNA setup...I'm certainly happy that HD will be available on a single Sat for Direct TV just as Dish has accomplished all along. Finally, I will check out the IRV2 thread...Thank You
  23. Having our 4 doggies with us at the Tucson event a few years back, I can say that in fact it was warm in the afternoon BUT that doesn't mean it will be this year. I did have 30 amp power when there so I was able to leave the kids in the MH although between the seminars I wanted to attend and what my wife wanted to attend, we could have switched off(and we did) taking turns babysitting the doggies. I guess that could be an option if traveling with someone? The entertainment generally occurs later in the day into the early evening...so that's a good thing! In closing, all I can say is we had so much Fun at the Escapade so if it sounds doable for you, you won't regret it!
