  1. Help, How do I wax, polish and buff the top of my semi? The paint is oxidized and I want to shine it up? Thanks, Cory O
  2. I could not believe how much it changed as I did consecutive passes over the hood at the beginning with only the clay bar. I don't think the truck had ever been waxed. The oxidation was horrible.
  3. I was very happy with all of the results. The clay bar and 3 polishes is a lot of work, however it took my paint from oxidized and terrible looking to awesome looking. Next will be to wash again and go over with buffer after it gets here. Working in the Vegas sun is no joke. It was 91 degrees over the weekend when I was outside working on it. Later, Cory O
  4. THANKS!!!!! would make it a lot easier, did not think of that.
  5. I should probably posted a before and after of the seats. They looked pretty bad.
  6. If you want more pictures I can put them on but I have to transfer from my phone to the my google cloud to the desktop to the photobucket to the posting it is so much fun!! Later, Cory O
  7. Howdy all! I had a very busy Sunday. I started back on Saturday cutting out a wooden plate, out of 1 x 6 about 3/4 of an inch thick, to mount my Solar lights on and then painted them black let them dry over night. On Sunday I loaded up the Tundra and the D.W. and went for a day at the in laws house. Front load washer burst last Monday at 6:00 p.m. and been dealing with a water abatement team and insurance but the washing of clothing at my house is on hold. So took a weeks worth of laundry to the in laws where I decided to make myself scarce and work on the semi, plus I grilled steaks I about for everybody including her sister and my niece. I store the semi at the her parents in the RV parking space. Anyway I got there and glued four neodymium magnets to each backing plate of each solar light set them all in the sun let them dry. I ordered the Mother's Clay Bar System along with the 3 waxes you use after it. I did the hood, top of the hood only. I did it by hand, starting with the wash. On a side note I do have a long throw random orbital buffer ordered and coming. It should be here Wednesday from Amazon. Even just doing the process starting from the washing stage the system was highly impressive! I was skeptical about this clay thinking O.K. how gullible am I now. OMG if you have not done it you have no idea. The clay is the first thing you do to take out the impurities from the paint and smooth out the surface, it is amazing. Those of you who have done your semi's what do you climb on to get a better stance or leverage at the center of the hood? I had a 10 foot step ladder, not the best tool. I about fell twice because I was pushing as I was polishing. I was thinking about buying scaffold to do the job and how do you get up to the roof????? After this was done I was told all were hungry for steak. I said it is 2:30 not quite supper time. I was informed the 80+ year section of the in laws wanted to eat at 3:00 WELLLLL O.K. Sirloin from Costco it is. After the grill was started I went back and put on the new seat covers and arm covers, but before I went into eat I turned on the semi and let it idle to cool off the cab and get the fluids circulating. I was going to eat in there but thought that might look a little obvious. So After dinner I went out, mounted the lights to the wood and put them on the side to see what it would look like. Remember these are only going to be used when "Boondocking" and will not be on the sides in transit. They went on and off without an issue. Glue held magnet in place and did not rip off when the light was removed from the side of the truck. Next went into the cab of the semi and put on universal seat covers I got from Rayne's Truck parts and the matching arm rest cover. They went on with a small amount of pulling, tugging, renaming and sweating. By the way after the picture I smoothed them out a little better. I am extremely happy with them. Pictures are attached please ask questions or give advice! Later, Cory O
  8. I started a new Thread see New Seat Covers / Security lights / Clay Bar Later, Cory O
  9. I got a lot done today, I am sunburnt, my arms burn from polishing by hand, and delt with the in laws all day. Everything turned out great. I am going to do everything I can to get them posted tomorrow. I am going to post on Facebook tonight if you are on there on the HDT forum. Later Cory Ossana
  10. Thanks, did not know that before!!! 😃😃😃
  11. I might need technical help posting pictures. I am going to put them on Sunday. I have my truck at the in laws house and I love them to death but sometimes I am just not in the mood. But I will get it done this weekend. Oh I almost forgot I also bought solar charging motion sensor security lights I am mounting on plywood the adding neodymium magnets to to put on the outside of the truck when I am boondocking.
  12. You got it, I will take before and after and let you know how they feel. I am also getting a steering wheel cover in the colors of the Italian flag.
  13. I got my arm rest covers for my seats last night. I am looking forward to getting them put on my semi soon. I also have the clay bar treatment to try out, however I need to get a long throw, random orbital polisher. I am hoping to get rid of the oxidized paint off of the hood of my truck and maybe take out a scratch or two on my fairings. Later, Cory O

I just had 8 daytonas put on my truck at Christmas with a 3 axel alignment for 2500, I am very happy with them.
  15. Last night after I wrote this I found my seat covers outside my door. They look really nice. Right about the time the seat covers were discovered my front load washer decided to empty all of the water it was using onto the floor of the utility room. I pulled out every towel I could find. So my entire living room, wet bar and downstairs bathroom that shares a wall with the laundry / utility room, are hardwood floors. We dried off everything we could then put about 10 fans of ours and borrowed from neighbors. We turned on exhaust fans, and ceiling fans. I got up this morning, it smells like rotting wood, the floor is pretty dry but where the seems between boards are is pretty bad looking. While great things are happening with the truck my house decides to fall apart. "When it rains, it pours." The D.W. decided she wants tile that looks like wood. Well I think that will bring all future projects on the Volvo to a halt for the near future. Later, Cory O - Vegas Teacher
  16. I ordered a new steering wheel cover and new seat covers from Raynes. The seat covers are black quilted vinyl and armrest covers for 138.00 each and the steering wheel cover is the colors of the Italian flag. I wanted to represent my Italian heritage somewhere in my Semi. Back to school tomorrow, spring break 2021, is officially over. Later, Cory O - Vegas Teacher.
  17. Call true blue diesel mechanics, ask for Steve tell him you know Vincent Ossana big orange Volvo he will take care of you.
  18. Yes I am look under Vincent Ossana I also sent you a private message did you get it. Or call me at 702 672 7990.
  19. You can't register as an R.V. in Nevada, I live in Vegas, tried that not possible. I have a Volvo 780. I weigh in at 18,500lbs. My 780 is registered as a private truck, at 26,000 lbs or less, noncommercial. I use GLG insurance which is a branch through progressive, they are on rainbow here in Vegas. Many insurance companies do not cover you if you are running bobtail, like when you might be taking your truck in for an oil change or repair that might need to be done without the trailer on it, you are not insured, GLG allows you to drive bobtail and still be covered if, go forbid, you are in an accident. Feel free to private message me if you would like the phone number for GLG, or great mechanics in Las Vegas. Another good source of information would be from Dolley trolley he is also in Nevada and knows this stuff backwards and forwards. Later Cory Ossana- Vegas Teacher.
  20. There is a division of progressive called GLG, they insured me so I could pull my trailer or run bobtail without issue. They told me a lot of people were switching to them. Later Cory Ossana
  21. I would love to go to Canada some day and see how beautiful it is up there. I want to drive to Alaska too.
  22. Yes I am looking for anything that might make my life easier if I drive into California in my truck.
  23. Hello All! I am making my 3 ring binder to be able to pull out and give to "L.E.O.'s" if pulled over again. When I was pulled over in February and had my surprise safety inspection I was very lucky that the Highway patrol that pulled me over knew the law. However if I travel out of state it might be different. I do not have a CDL here in Nevada because it is not needed. I am registered as a private truck non-commercial. I just got off of the phone with the California Highway Patrol and the officer on the phone said that if it is acceptable in Nevada we will accept it but have the code written out or printed off so they can look it up. I don't know where to look for that code or which specific code it is. If anybody can help me with a link to that code and tell me which code to highlight it would be greatly appreciated. When I make day trips I am going to be running bobtail without a trailer to go to Schutzhund practice in Delano California. I also have to drive past a "Chicken Coupe" just outside of Tehachapi California and I guess I have to drive through there and get weighted. So an advice on how to set up my 3 ring and the order you all have been successful with would be a huge help. The codes are important. Thanks in advance for any help!!! Sincerely, Vegas Teacher - Cory Ossana
