  1. Wilma and I should be arriving early afternoon. Looking forward to the rally.
  2. Mark, can we just change our Local Address to get these CONUS locals?
  3. Also interested. With great difficulty have resisted offering my “wisdom”. Look forward to seeing the hitch photos and the sequence of events leading to loss of the fifth wheel.
  4. Vote for the 8800. When the 7730 battery went bad AGAIN, we opted to replace it with the 8800. Huge improvement in download speed in places we frequent. Only caution is there have been reported problems with the unit resetting, though we haven’t seen the problem.

Darryl, sadly we will not be able to make it up your way this summer.
  6. Wilma and I are looking forward to attending this summer.

Sounds like a plan! We're good for 21st thru 25th. For our fellow HDT'ers heading to AK for the summer, it'll be a great opportunity to meet and great. Since there aren't that many roads in AK, it's likely our paths will cross again during our journeys and that's fun. Thanks Darryl for taking the initiative.

Great idea, especially for north bound to meet up with other folks headed to AK. We’d be game for mid May timeframe.
  9. Chatted with Winegard rep at Tampa RV show and asked about Dish hybrid plans. The are working on the software and it'll be backward compatible. Rep was surprised we are able to make it work today. User update will be through contoller port.
  10. Heading back to Florida today after great shakedown trip taking in another great Rally and visiting family and friends. We're overnighting in Cartersville, Ga after 700 mile day. Memorable part of trip today was seeing David Dixon southbound on I-24 just north of Nashville . . . passing us slowpokes.
  11. Mark, I got pretty good bringing in all three satellites using the cheapo meter with the old Vip211 and a 1000.4 dish. Picked up a 1000.2 and east & west hybrid LNBs and expected to use same simple technique on our Hopper 3. Not so?
  12. Completed Travler conversion today using Zulu's guide and now the Winegard will support the Hopper 3. Key is following the wiring schematic and don't miss the cross connect of the Hybrid LNB port B to the Travler Base connector C. Would have been tough to figure out without this schematic. Thanks Tom!
  13. Congrats Larry and Donna! Have you decided who and how to build the bed?
  14. Hi all, My wife and I are starting our countdown to full time in 2016. We’ve been lurking for some time and I’d say we’re entering the “dangerously smart” phase, thinking we have a pretty good idea how we want to do it. We think “the must haves” are an HDT (auto transmission), carrying a Smart and pulling a vintage 5th like a Teton or Kountry Aire or similar. We plan on joining the October HDT rally, probably in one of those obnoxiously advertized class C rentals. I expect we’ll start seriously shopping for the “right” set up shortly after Hutchinson. Until then, we’ll continue enjoying the posts and may even make a stab at an intelligent comment.
