We're back up and running. With a new air compressor. What a project. Going from No air pressure at all to  120 pounds in just shy of 3 minutes. I think it's pretty good anyway looking forward to camping.😁 Let the party begin woohoo.

    That lots faster than mine.

    Glenn,

The article was for folks who are considering owning one, not folks who are not. I will be posting the only seven EVs that will qualify for the full $7500 tax credit. and then only middle class folks who made less than $150k.

We are shopping for a plug in hybrid but they are higher priced at $57k for the new Toyota PHEV than a new Tesla. Tesla just dropped the price again yesterday 19 April 2023 to $49,999.99 for the Model Y Tesla long range, two motor, AWD full BEV so we may just get another Tesla new. And that is the new version with their GigaPress die cast single piece construction of the body and chassis. So it us now $2k cheaper than my 2020 model Y cost. But now I get the $7500 tax credit I did not get before. Going there this weekend to see their trade in offer.

They can deliver within a month as of last week, and the new Model Y also gets the full $7500 tax credit if the buyers make less than $150k a year.

I really wanted to try the PHEV. As little as we drive retired, a 35 mile range on the PHEV battery means it will be an EV for 80-90% of her use. We are getting the white interior this time.

Think I will stick with what I have. Little Smart cheap to operate. Live long enough may have to get another car and maybe convient charging places by then. Will see. I am not against them. Do believe a hybird a better car just now.

  3. I have posted before on here about one door leaking to front storage area. I have caulked, pulled outside trim and thought I had found problem. Well noticed rotted wood around frame of door so I removed the door today there was no sealant ever put inside door to opening. Well removed all damaged wood and replaced with good.  Right much damage. Should I caulk inside of door frame or use butyl rubber?

If the new refrigerator you found at Home Depot is too large to fit through the door of your Teton RV, you may need to consider other options. One option is to remove a window or another large opening in your RV and install the new refrigerator through that opening, as you mentioned you saw in a video. Another option is to choose a smaller refrigerator that will fit through the door of your RV.

It is important to carefully measure the dimensions of the refrigerator and the opening in your RV to ensure a proper fit. If you are unsure about the installation process or don't have the necessary tools, it may be best to consult a professional to install the new refrigerator for you.

Did you miss my posts. It is in and finished installing. I started to get a standard depth fridge but window would have to come out for entry. Got same counter size that original was.

Sorry - what trucks? I believe the article is about it charging its own (the travel trailer the topic is about) battery bank to assist the tow vehicle with its own motor driving its own wheels to minimize the effects on the electric tow vehicle's battery pack.

My Ram Diesel 1 Ton dually I towed with got ~20-22 mpg with no load. Pulling a lightweight 36 foot fiver the mileage dropped to 10-11. If that trailer was available today at a price I wanted to afford, it would get 300 miles at 20-22mpg while the trailer was moving itself, and then if I needed to keep going pulling all of the trailer weight I could drive until I needed to fill the diesel up.

Since the TT travels pulling its own weight or whatever large percentage it does, for about 300 m iles, it opens up the possibility for a 250 mile range Ford Lightning to travel 250 miles theoretically. Without the trailer's motive force the Lightning would only pull it ~125 miles. YMMV.

They have a prototype and may never come to market.

That was to Lappir post about getting a used Telsa truck

I commend you for sticking to the project! I've reached the age where I tend to pay someone else to do big jobs but I do miss the feeling of satisfaction you get from do it yourself jobs.

That in itself is nearly impossible. Getting a residential fridge put in by someone. Home Depot will install in a house but not rv.

  7. Yes it is. Reason I was so tired the fridge came in Friday and pouring rain. Park owner let me store it in his building. Only problem building good ways from my camper. So I put it on a cart and carted to my camper. That was a job in itself. Got a fellow camper help me get it in camper. Had to trim some upper trim wood for clearance. Couple of upright 2X4 in back for stops. Had to move them back a little. Only item left as fridge is on a slide out can see bottom of fridge. So I had a piece of trim on the old unit. Going to modify it today and nail in.
