  1. we can go a week without dumping our black tank. We have 4500 watt of solar. This time of year, not too hot, we can go many days on solar and batteries. During the 100 degree summers ac pull more and batteries will run out at night. But our camper a lot bigger than this one. That one has only 1 ac also. With enough battery I can see 7 days in it. I can't judge on water usage. We have never went days without water hookup. Should add we have mini splits for ac

But, those were not work camping jobs. I'd be a little more leery of anything that could be interpreted as recreational rather than occupational. And the work may need to be full time which, I think, few work camping jobs are since most work campers want to be free to explore each area in which they camp. Lots of research to do. So many ifs!

Well I didn't work full time. My trade was not full time. I worked when work is needed. Basically plant shut downs. For maintaince  and plant emergency. Now I had nothing to write off between jobs.

  3. We traveled full time to jobs. We we wrote off park rent, mileage to and from job, allowed meal expense. Irs has a stand amount allowed for that area. One could keep all meal recipes but standard amount generous. Also work clothes as frc is required. One cannot deduct street clothes. Maybe more but retired now. We used TurboTax. They have all the needed forms

  4. We have an existing meter pole and was in service years ago. Got power company out there yesterday. Code has changed and pole is too short. I need 5' in ground and 14' high. so need 20' pole or post. 6" post or 6X6" square post. I prefer a square post. Be easier to mount to flat surface. Lowes don't have. Home Depot don't have. McCoys don't have. Haven't talked with them yet but nothing showing on line. Any of you guys know where electricians buy these posts?

  5. lippert builds drv chassis to drv specs. This discussion brings to mind a story. Years ago I worked on a maintenance job and we basically done what was needed. A part of the plant had many changes over the years. Upgrades and additions had added lots of weight to the building. So engineers had us go in and add braces to the steel. We tore out walls, welded in cleats and bolted steel. Well we should take a lesson from them. We add more and more in our campers and never consider the weight specs of the unit. Now we on this forum are more informed than the masses of rv owners. I dare say over half of rvs are overloaded and some severely. I am surprised there are not more failures.

  6. There are some youtube videos of them. they work well and cleaning is simple. They are power hungry. also make a gas model. They are costly though. Less than lots of septic systems though. Search youtube for Ambition Strikes, burring our poop.

I never understood why the code was changed to eliminate the requirement for a drip-leg at each appliance.  I opened the drip-leg on my 30G LP water heater here at home, it was dry and empty after 56 years, but i'm keeping it JIC.

I had a new 120,000btu LP furnace installed, no drip-leg was installed. We'll see what happens.

Ray, i believe the original owner must have left system open and it was in Huston area so lots of humidity. It should not have happened under normal conditions.

I hate to tell you, but it doesn't get better as the years go by. I was on duty as a driver in our community today 8 hours, most of the time spent waiting for someone. I am tired like I had actually worked all day.

Think it had a lot to do with me being rather laid back for the last year. Just go on daily walks. Got out of shape.
