  1. I don't have a stressful job. Was in one when self employed and got out of that. Yes, we agree there, but can't see one staying in a stressful job.And I sleep better when working also. But I wasn't talking about you and stated such. What i see is what i see.
  2. Might be true for yall but ii have seen so many people die within 2 years of retiring. Also seen many continue working and live long lives. Not saying this works for everyone but an inactive lifestyle shortens one's life.
  3. We have Coachnet. Never needed them. Bought it due to recommendations on this site.
  4. I work with people that frequent hotels. Stuff get stolen a lot. Tool boxes out of truck bed. Entire truck and box. It happens more than most realize.
  5. Oh, that not the problem. He does and knows too. He has been doing this for over 40 years. Age and weaker kidneys.
  6. A very recent event happening. My nephew, basically an older brother to me, is in the hospital. He was working at a construction job in Savannah Georgia. Working 13 days, then 1 off. Got weak and quit eating. Drinking all the water he could. Drove to home, NC (bad decision I know). Went straight to emergency room and one looked and admitted. He was severely dehydrated and kidneys non functional. He is recovering and says retirement now. That brosse with death woke him up. Seems his kidneys just couldn't keep up with that demand. Very sobering.

  8. Accidentally left mine on and bobtailed across town. It pure jerked me to stop. Yes, sounds like you have a problem. But, I towed 150 miles yesterday without it on. Raining and thought it would be better. Stopped just fine. But no hills to amount to anything.

  11. Mine works and i know if it's on. Pulls back very noticeable. Don't have to have load or on grade. Mine is 2 settings.
  12. Sadly I know people that have no skills. I do and am so thankful. My brother, 10 years older than me, retired at 48, Got fed up with the rat race he was in. Started plumbing, farming, odd jobs of anykind. Made a good living and had fun doing it. He now , in his 70s, grows peanuts, boils them and sells to public. Hires retired widowers to pick off peanuts. They are in ac too. They have a blast. He makes enough off those peanuts to carry him through the year. But he is a person that can do whatever he wants to.
  13. My jobs are short jobs. Always has been. I can go to work and make 12k monthly. Really enjoy them too. I would hate to be stuck to a crummy job this stage of my life. I have been off more than on this year. May just continue that.
  14. And in my case odds are I will live a long healthy life. Now very well know life can fool me too. So I work till 66ish and likely retire sorta. Will likely hit a few shutdowns here and there but pick time of year to work.
  15. Zulu brings up one the main reasons those I know regret retiring at 62, health care. One I know has throat cancer and no insurance. Can't buy it on SS funds.
  16. I can name several that regret retiring at 62. The difference in SS payments is huge. That is all they have though. I intend to work till 66ish for maximum SS payment and fact that I am in great health and active. Enjoy my profession. I could die tomorrow but my family live long productive lives. I have not abused my body and it shows. I'm working on getting my Teton energy sufficient by then and travel till I get tired of it. We been a lot of places but working and vacationing not the same.
  17. Interesting, heavy duty tow truck. Let's see, my hdt weighs less than my Teton. So need a hd tow truck for either.
  18. Never seen a Sealand foot valve that worked that way. Only thedford.
  19. I actually prefer the Thedford. I hate having to hold up on that foot valve. Always on socks in house and not comfortable on top of foot

  23. I find that lame. I had a business years ago. I had business cards. Not expensive. Card is easy to find when you in trouble. A piece of paper not
