Mtn.Mike
I have a 2004 Holiday Rambler Endeavor and just noticed that the front cover for the generator was out of alignment so I attempted to tighten the screws that hold the cover on. I discovered that under the fiberglass they had used wood and the wood was rotten. I only have one solid screw and the others are removable by hand. How can I attach the screws without drilling and running carriage bolts to the outside of the cover which will then show from outside? 2004 Holiday Rambler Endeavor 40 PDQ being pushed by a 2013 MX-5 Miata. lenp
Could you get the wood out of the existing fiberglass and then install fresh wood followed by some new fiberglass (all on the inside)? This would require some fiberglass work but it is not that hard to do. Wrknrvr
Dig the wood out and clean it extremely good. Sand the old glass where the wood was and then fill it with glass and resin Vern
ARGO
Try "Git-Rot" on it 1st. It is a penetrating resin that will form a better bond to the wood than regular resin. Then fill. You'd have to see the movie to understand..........
folivier
Look at this website: rotdoctor.com CPES, clear penetrating epoxy would be the first product. The wood cells absorb this thin clear liquid and once cured can't absorb water and can't rot further. Then fill with this Fill-It epoxy filler. Then drill a pilot hole and install new stainless screws. Done.
