IYQ
This thing ate my post so here goes again. Denise pulled in late this morning. She liked what she saw and desided to stay a couple of days. Maybe we can get with some of you for a meal while she's here. I know she wants to see Sandy before heading farther east. So, I offered to drive her over to AJ from here. One of my friends is here also who is a Biker. I introduced him to Denise so maybe they can get some riding in if there is time. I'll swear off those two wheel back breakers. I used to race them but I'm just a little bit over the hill now. Welllllll, maybe a little more than a little bit. Wanderin
Trying to find someplace that's about half way between us. I know there's something out there and I will find it. Tell Denise "HI". We really liked that lady. Wind has been blowing since we got to Bullhead City. We don't like it. We don't like it at all! A few more days and we're moving to Las Vegas and then on up to Utah eventually .......... perhaps. We're still looking for that perfect place to park. I wonder if we'll ever find it. We actually have hookups now but I'm not sure what I prefer --- wide open spaces or hookups. I'm almost thinking the wide open spaces. Don't tell IYQ that. Sandie & Jim
Met up with Denise, Lee and Paul at Old Chicago in Chandler. Worked out to about 39 miles for Lee and Denise and 28 miles for us. Paul drove his beast of a truck to charge up the batteries before he heads out tomorrow. Had a great time even if it is hard to say goodbye. Denise isn't sure she'll be able to afford to come West next year so not sure where or when we'll get to catch up with her and Bennie. Lee's thumbs are looking pretty beat up and he sure seems anxious to get those tax returns done. Must be getting a great big huge refund. lol Thanks Lee for a great lunch. mskay
Well I'm all hooked up and ready to roll. Tomorrow morning I'll start scratching this hitch itch. Just about everyone at the Slab LOWs came past today to say bye bye. It makes one think they are glad to get rid of me. I'll try to get going before the wind picks up tomorrow. They are forecasting winds to 28 with gust to 44. Maybe I can get to Casa Grande without starting the engine. I won't be staying there long. I'll do a little trailer cleaning then march on toward Deming, NM, and start working on my taxes. Safe travels! Hope you don't get East far enough to catch up to the wind and Storms! IYQ
Lunch with Jim and Sandie, Paul, Denise and some guy with a carved thumb today was really a treat. I'm for doing it again tomorrow but I got to get some work done so I can move on to Deming and do my taxes. Denise thinks she might stay here for a while she likes this park. I like it too, It's Free. The sites are about 100 yards apart except for a few around the pavilion. It stays pretty clean for a free park and a lot of my friends stop here. I was planing on pulling out Friday but I don't like to travel on Friday because of all the weekend warriors. I'll have to think about that. I've got a lot of work I want to get done but don't have the parts to do all the jobs. I may run into Casa Grande (25 miles) and get what I need then stay until Monday. IYQ
Denise pulled out a little before noon today and I'll be leaving in the morning heading right into the heart of the cold weather. It's predicted to go down to 25 tomorrow night in Deming. I was going to stop over night in Bensen but it's just as cold there. Tucson is a little warmer but I don't like big cities or Resort type RV Parks. So, Deming it is. I don't know where Denise is planning to stop but I think she said something about Tucson. If I get tired I'll try to stop just before I get to Tucson because there is nothing after Tucson until Benson. I'm all hooked up and ready to roll. I just don't know where to roll to. Wanderin
I liked not having to decide until it was actually time to stop. FREEDOM! Linda I know exactly what you mean but the problem comes when the place you want to be is going to be full unless you do that. Well, I discovered that again yesterday. I made reservations. There was only one site left in the area we wanted at Sand Hollow State Park in Utah for the time we thought we "might" be there. MIGHT be there!!! I figured it was better to make the reservations and figured we could always cancel. I must admit that most of the time I make reservations, they end up getting cancelled. I'm sure this one will be no different but right now I hope not. I guess the freedom here is that I can always cancel..... The wind blew hard last night. Sunday is moving day. Sandie & Jim
Wind here in AJ also but at least we aren't trying to move anywhere. Have a water leak - think it's the gray tank but we're going to have to get somebody to check it out because Jim can't get under the rig and I don't have a clue what to look for. Jim is really doing great. Feels wonderful and is walking quite a bit with no pain. sandsys
I figured it was better to make the reservations and figured we could always cancel. Do you always cancel in time for us drop-ins to not be turned away from spots that will sit empty? So many people don't, which I find very frustrating. But, we have been the beneficiaries of last minute cancellations so I appreciate that. IYQ
The trip today was uneventful. What wind there was, was at my back so it just helped push me along until I got about 20 miles from Deming. Then I could see a big dust cloud at the base of the Florida Mts. I knew I was in Deming. When I got to the Ranch the wind was whipping it up pretty good. The Gang here was planning a trip to town to have dinner. I went with them. It is now 7 PM and the wind seems to be dying down a bit. It is forcast to get down to 25 degrees tonight. That I don't like but my trusty Blue Flame heater will take care of that.
