noteven
Australia imports over 90% of it’s petroleum. Australian trucks are big and heavy. Janus Electric is producing an interesting system to repower existing commercial heavy trucks with battery electric power with fast “recharging” time. Deezl Smoke
I saw those videos a while back when I started following Edison motors up in Canada. Very cool system actually. Last I recall they were working on ways to swap out the batteries without using a forklift. Quote I'm a work'n on it.
ddm502001
Friends still in HD Truck Repair business have noted will not be much of a value here, almost Double the cost of a similar IC Engine truck, even over time financial recovery is slim to non existent. Battery service life is short, expense to replace is a evil number much as were the battery swaps for Hybrid Cars even Tesla cars. Cheaper to replace the entire machine. Cost to charge battery is artificially indicated LOW, in actual dollars higher due to charging wait times and standing in line unable to go to a different source charger. REQUIRES a Licensed Electrician to perform even the simplest of tasks on these.
